I'm sorry OP, but your english makes ME want to cry. I have read your translation before and dropped it long ago. I now have new level of respect for your Editor. Maybe run your longer posts past him before you get blasted here?

From the OP english skill it makes me wonder if I can google translate some novel and make $35 a chapter...

 

Give him a break, guys. I read the previous thread, and basically it can be summed up as Qidian is a boon to smaller sites and translators working on their own. There were uncertainties about donations and such, and Qidian basically gave them another way (whether it's the only way 'or else' is perhaps the cause of the muddy waters). Given the TS's demonstrated language I think we can give him the benefit of the doubt regarding malicious intent.

The core issue is that Qidian wants to have administrative control of their titles under one big happy website of their own, while the translators and webmasters affected did not want their identity and autonomy to disappear. Taking a step back and we can see that there are logical reasoning behind each party, notwithstanding whether we agree with one or the other.

Now, about Qidian doing shady things such as misleading WXW and/or sneakily setting up a paywall for future readers, that's a whole different animal. I have to say that Qidian messed up big time by bringing into public on what was essentially a private business disagreement. Such things are rarely resolved happily and almost always result in ill feelings all around.

I'm not sure what sort of resolution WXW is aiming for that is relevant to us readers. At the end of the day the rights of the novels still belong to Qidian. Other translators are already dropping their novels to avoid possible hassle.

I feel the 'good days' of reading whatever Qidian novel you want and donating if you feel like it is coming to an end soon, whether you like it or not.

Like I said, ill feelings all around...

maybe i failed to word this properly, but this is a pretty typical business contract. now, whether or not you could consider the rest of our community a business is up for grabs. if you can't, then it would seem a lot worse than it would be otherwise.

Believe it or not, I'm not being defensive. We will be in an actual LAWSUIT against Qidian, a company which is worth nearly a billion dollars, and I need every scrap of evidence that I can find to prove how horribly they acted and how they violated our agreements. Now, they apparently broke NDA with a translator, then sent him out to tell EVERYONE on NUF what might be privileged details between private contracts between Wuxiaworld and Qidian. If you think I'm going to let up until we get the truth, you are crazy. It's hard enough proving a billion-dollar company is lying!

Wew, a lot of us have already hopped on the WW train, posting on NU won't do them much good unless they start literally hiring shills to post in the forums about how good Qidian is. And getting Noodletown to play PR rep is a shitty idea since we all know that noodletown translates for the money to begin with, not the community.

 

@noodletowntranslated I used to be fan of all your projects till I lost interest in the plot, but I used to like your site so much. The quality of the translations is actually good. I think it's all good since I never had problem understanding the contents. Well, no use talking about that. The sad thing right now is... you sound so agitated while defending QI's side. *sighs* Good luck.

I will be honest I love GDN and im not to good in english but if you're translating it this way i will say one thing respect to the editors.
