Hey guys! So I'm wondering if there's any novels out there that actually know their scientific/engineering facts/processes. If there's any, point them my way. The only one I know that looks like they know what they're talking about is Drop, though the explanations make me yawn so I mostly skim those parts. Bonus if they talk about physics stuff!
The Engineer Wizard by Glenn Michaels. 2nd book turned a bit into "meh", with all the drama in authors life put into the story, but it reminded me that 3rd book should be out already.
Stellar Transformation did....Ok? A lot better than 99% of Chinese novels though. A bit off topic, but I think you should read "The Dandelion Girl", not exactly science based, but still a good read. Back on topic, Air, The speed of dark, The Martian, The Enemy Stars, these are ones I know are pretty good.
Will def check this one out. I know this has an anime, but I'll check this one out as well. I've seen this recommended left and right, so I already have it on my reading list, but I'll definitely read it regardless of if it's accurate or not! ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING DAMN. I'll def check this one out. This sounds more like fantasy than science-based. But will definitely check them out for when I'm in the mood for these types. Oooof to blockhead MC. I'll check it out, though can't promise cause I can't stand blockhead MCs sometimes...
Pretty much everything we're gonna recommend is going to be some type of fantasy, otherwise we'd just be suggesting hard science books like Steven Hawkings A Brief History of Time or Carl Sagans Pale blue Dot
The Legendary Mechanic dont know how accurate it is but maybe it will interest you also if you want a fanfic maybe this one System Programmer on scribble hub.
I think you misunderstood me. There’s a reason I said more fantasy-based than science-based. It’s not that I don’t like CN martial arts novels, but a lot of the concepts don’t seem based on what we know so far, especially those cultivation novels (aka very very far-fetched, and even then, the whole concept of...Qi was it? Or most of the concepts in them seem more on the fantasy side to me). That’s why I did mention facts/processes as well as added engineering in there. I was looking more into things that make use of what we already know. Like there was a moment in this one LN’s manga where the MC came up with ores by assuming that if you compressed something enough at a high temperature, you could make it. Or at the very least, if they do introduce a different concept, we get a decent explanation of how and why it works (like jumping so high you reach the top of a mountain in one jump, an explanation of why that works would be cool). Doesn’t have to be every tiny new concept, but major ones probably. And also, I was talking about the first one you mentioned. I’ll definitely check all of them out though, regardless. I’ll check all of these out.
Throne of Magical Arcana might work for you. It brings a lot of science concepts into the study of magic, including things like theoretical physics. Though, their tech level is around that of the 19th century, give or take. Zombie Knight, though it's focus is more on chemistry than physics, assuming you consider them to be separate fields.
Everyone and their mother has probably already heard of Toaru Majutsu no Index, but I didn't see it suggested yet. To be completely honest I haven't read or watched it myself so I don't know how accurate it is, all I know is one character's ability is vector manipulation and the author did a good job explaining what he was doing behind the scenes with vectors to explain all the big boom flashy flashies he caused.
