More than one char? Why not try Overlord. It even focus on the char that will die at the end of the vol.

I seconded The Lazy King, Vamp!, and Etsusa Bridge. And then Utsuro no Hako to Zero no Maria. The main perspective is from Kazuki Hoshino's perspective, but the focus of the story change to another character from time to time. POV play is also often used to build mystery.
