    I am looking for novels where king wants to destroy a clan because it can pose a threat to his chair eventhough the clan is very loyal.
    Ex: Jun clan (OEM)
    One more Jun clan but with a female lead (almost copy of OEM)
    Ancient Godly Monarch

    I don't know about others but from where did king bullying clans come in ATG?
    Its the poor Blue wind empire king who is treated as trash by many sects.
    Even DFS doesnot do any bullying of it s clans, its so strong it hAs no interest

    The Queen's Thief series has a bit of that. The third book, IIRC.

    It's not just a clan, though. The monarch wants to dismantle their own private army because it helped put them in power, and they're worried that it could one day do the same for someone else. But before they can dismantle their own army, they have to take care of the more powerful families under their rule, so that they don't need the army.

    Iwouldn't quite say the king want's to destroy the Jun clan, he would do things to weaken the Jun clan, but that's only to make sure they don't get so much power that they can over throw him and his family.

    It's not a major part of the story but it does happen. Even the Ji clan sometimes attacks it's subordinate towns so they don't grow too powerful. It's in the first few books.
    It's mostly just mentioned in passing though.

    i thought the youngflame clan dominating / wiping out the yuchi falls under this category does it not, they were practically the leading hegemony in that sector unless you believe otherwise?
