Introduction: There are lots of novels in the NU websites(you can't argue with that) and even more not listed in NU(of course duh...). So as the title listed, I would like request recommendations of novels with those theme written by Chinese, Korean or Japanese authors as i find their writing culture more to my liking. If it have mention about Milesians myth is good as well(cu chulainn bitches!!) Body: The main attraction of novels with main theme or mentions about Olympus/Asgardians is that the author always portrays different outlook of the characters and environments. Loki can be likeable or stays the villain he is portrayed in the legends, characters will have different interaction between each others(lovers, background story, rivals, enemies) and the best part is that they usually have a cluster F*ck of a mess of relationship between them LMAO(Children, siblings, incest or others)(not that Chinese or Indian mythology ain't weird as well but got tired of them after tons of xianxia binge). Some of the novels that have them: -Danmachi(OFC)(JP) -Vallhala saga(KR) -High School DxD(JP) -Valhalla ban gohan(JP)(immortal eatable boar) -Overgeared(KR) -Campione(JP) -Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai kara Kuru Sou Desu yo?(JP) -(a very very very weak mention of 'thor)Absolute Duo(JP)(just because the MC punch hard and called it thor hammer(because his name is tohru)) -The Overlord of Blood and Iron(KR)(a little bit i guess) -i cant remember a lot in a single thought and that's all from me i guess -(manga not novel but is recommendation worthy here)shuumatsu no valkyrie -Kobayashi maid dragon -saint seiya bitches Conclusion: I would like to give my thanks to those that will discuss this topic, even if there aren't any recommendations about the novels. This is my personal, preference as of now and just wish to read in peace, hopefully I can be recommended decent novel and would like to extend my thanks to me, myself who wrote this essay as a waste of time. With hypocrisy though,I sincerely with there wouldn't be a lot of recommendation about absolute mainstream repeated just-change-the-name-of-characters-and-i-can't-find-the-difference-between-novel(come on, you don't need examples of this, if you need though, you haven't read enough novelshere in NU ma dudes).
I haven't really read anything like that for years but if you haven't read it i recall Mushoku Tensei to be good. I am not gonna link anything because there is a Web novel , a light novel , an anime ,probably a manga and ...(can't think)
I have re-read this like at least 4 times(true story), one of my first novels with Shield Bro and Coiling Dragon oh and anime announcement have been made, coming soon in a year iirc
Daniel Black Series, about a guy transported into the World that will be experiencing Fimbulwinter or Ragnarok.
I didn’t get what you wish from your title and OP, they’re a bit contradictory, but missing a bit your request of oriental novels based on asgard /olympus, i would recommend the Rick Riordan author for you to read, what, maybe, you’re already familiar with.
I like progression and how fight scenes are described within the Asian counterparts and Valhalla Saga managed to fuse western mythology and Asian action together(my opinion ofc). I just can't stand western novels for some reason, may it be the way how they wrote the novel or something else event hough I have tried some of them(some acceptable ofc, most I can't stand) (that's why I requested Asian ones if possible) (will still try your recommendations too ofc before making a comment)
King it the Battlefield has Asmodians or some other mythical elements. It needed a lot of research too. @userunfriendly is the editor of the novel so be knows more than me. Hero Without Blood or Tear should also be a good read Cheers! P.S. I think I might have mixed up Hero Without Blood or Tear with Overlord of Blood or Iron since I used to translate both
Well actually My beautiful wife is a CEO heavily referenced Olympia in the story But I'm not recommending it because it is trash and wish fulfillment type of modern novel Maybe you can try it?
Yeah, also read, forgotten to list them above Dropped it half a year ago because of the same reasons too
Yeppers, the mythology in KoftheB has the names of demons from Earth mythology, multiple sources, but goes off in a completely different direction than you’d expect. As you know, the mythology has been a black box most of the novel, only now we’re beginning to understand how it all comes together.
Omniscient Reader's viewpoint has a lot of mythology in it. asgards, olympus, papyrus, indian, kr, cn, en, and other country myths, historical heroes, animals, creatures. well it has tons of it.
Maybe something asf, but mind you though that most of these are mangas and/or animes: Waltraute-san no Konkatsu Jijou (+) Lore Olympus & Punderworld (webtoon) Bride of Deimos Percy Jackson & Magnus Chase series Pygmalio Raisekamika Ragnarok Silver Valkyrie Aa! Megami-sama! Some of Clive Cussler's books incorporate Greek & Norse mythology (prominently on Valhalla Rising & Trojan Odyssey) Professor Munakata series got some Greek mythology w/ how it might spread & turned into other folklore (JPN in particular)
