I'm reading The World Online, and some of the things that I liked the most were the "plot twists" in the battles. I mean, you can guess who's going to win in the end, but I like the process of the war. But I hope there are other novels with better war plot, because TWO is a world building novel, and It focus is on the explanations about the territory. And I would love to read some of these novels. If there is any complete, better. If there are ancient characters or not, doesnt matter. Anything with an army, a smart general (MC or not) and a strategic war os good. Could you guys help me find some? Thank you very much
If you haven't read it yet, I suggest Rakuin no Monshou. The battles and troop movements between the countries are a major focus of the series and very well written.

For another one that's written in English, A Hero's War is sort of similar to Release that Witch in that the MC is technologically revolutionizing a fantasy world (though he doesn't become a king or anything - or want to). It's been slow updates for a while, but still a pretty good novel with POVs of wars every now and then.
Tales of Reincarnated Lord. early chapter is super slow and boring. until he goes to his homeland it gets better.
