Oh man Heavenly jewel change almost made my list, but I figured it could be interesting so I read it. Awakening was a shot in the dark for me. I decided to try it on impulse and didn't put it off, I had no regret at all.

Skyfire Avenue! Bad description + unusual topic for first couple chapters = I gave it up after the second chapter. But I tried it again one day for the lols one day and now it's my favorite novel! :)

ISSTH. Something about it put me off so it took two or three tries to get into it.

I would say 50% of my reading list.
You can't judge a book by its cover or in this case by its description

Also, ISSTH as well indeed. When I first looked at it, the description didn't really picked my interest, it looked like another generic xanxia. So I didn't really pay any attention to it for a while. However, once I started reading, I got into it quickly. It even kept getting better over time. Now it's one of my favorites.

Well I don't know how to explain it. At first I thought ISSTH wasn't any different from other xanxias, then after a few chapters I quickly got the feeling it was rather unique.
It's like you see a book from a genre you often read, and you're not that eager to read it because you read so much books of that genre already, so you're not in a hurry. Then you eventually read it because you don't have anything else to read anyway. And surprisingly, that book ends up being your fav.

Douluo Dalu was mine, and it was the start of everything for me.
Back then, I was still stereotyping on chinese novels, and was like "chinese novels will never be good." Then there came a day when I seriously had nothing to read left, and gave it a shot. Boom! My mind was blown.

After that, I added chinese novels into my reading list, and started translating my own as well.

I always like Xianxia and wuxia, which mostly manhwa but one day i was bored, CD was my first try on CN, and I remembered i spent days trying to finish all the translated volumes, took me about a 4 days, and i tried ISSTH, halfway past few chapter(quite bland, my first opinion) so I jumped to ST, fall in love with QY, and I decided to give ISSTH another chance, and MGA, ATG, lists goes on as now i am losing myself in Wuxia world. And surprisingly MENG HAO is my favorite MC, 2nd - Lin Dong, 3rd - havent thought of it
