So far, this story is about watching a train wreck happen. Very slowly.

The premise starts off typical of an Otome novel: the female MC's fiance, the Crown Prince, publicly cancels their engagement. The story's twist is that the MC "dies" at the end of chapter-1, off screen. And as of the current chapter (19), that's the last we've seen of the MC. This is essentially a revenge story, but without the actual participation of the MC. Based on the reviewers' spoilers, the story does turn back to her later.

So anyway, unknown to her family, because none of them bothered to pay attention, the MC was propping up her family's excessive spending. Now that she's "dead", all of the things that her family took for granted are suddenly gone and things begin falling apart for them. Ditto for her business partner. And the Crown Prince even faces unexpected side effects from his engagement annulment. There are some reactions from a couple of tertiary characters, but it's unclear to me what their deal is yet.

The current translator's work is pretty good. As is typical of a Japanese novel, the reading level is low and writing style is very simplistic. The chapters are also pretty short even without the chapter splitting.

I am convinced, based on the hints in the chapters so far, that Lorona is alive and this is an elaborate attempt to fake her own death for the sake of letting everyone else hang themselves instead of getting her hands dirty. Nothing conclusive yet though.

Not much left of the novel, less than 10 chapters left, assuming the translator hadn't been splitting chapters.

Well, that was a very nice read, short enough to keep momentum, specially for the final reveals
