I use ren'py~! The easiest engine I can use for VN. But the problem is the asset, not the engine. LOL~!
Well in case of different kinds of dragons, you might also need: -defense +speed Or ++speed -DEF -ATK Or +ATK +DEF --SPD There are many kinds of dragon, with the idea of different kinds of beastmen, You might also need to have more detailed dragon races.
Could this somehow equate to something like...ummm......user based SLIMES FOR THE WIN, but probably won't be as op as I can think of it...
I had an idea with the users thinking of original skills or more like doing certain things can give skills but something like that will only work in a actual VR kind of thing and the programming for that will be equivalent to 100 super AIs...such a dream though...getting actual VR should be priority though.
Are you actually going to code this, as a former programming student...I give my luck and condolences to you, if you succeed then damn, nice!
I don't have anything special that can be added. I will wait for your game. If i find some bug, i will tell you.
This may be late, but I didn't know how to say it in a way that doesn't make me sound like a bitch. Problem with gathering people to make games from an online forum is that everyone has their own idea of a game. However, their game and your game doesn't always match and most of the time it doesn't. Worse, a lot of the people who want to take part don't even have any usable skills that can help push the development along. I'm talking artists, programmers, audio composers. A lot of people just give you ideas and that's fine. Problem is, they expect you to take their ideas seriously, even if their ideas totally clash with yours and won't take no for an answer. They believe their ideas are the only way that works and your ideas are totally useless. You gather them to help you make your game, but it end up with them completely replacing your ideas with some blended ideas from tens of people that contradict each other. Now, that would be fine if they can cut down on your load by thinking of a way to program it. Or better yet, if they want the features implemented, they can implement it themselves. But even when given a simple game engine (no programming required) that only requires a few weeks' of training, they just don't bother. They keep running their mouths, telling you your ideas are too lame and telling you to make it bombastic, like "this guy should be this" or "you should make weapon crafting" or "the battle system is too simple". I purposely chose to make the game using a simple game engine so that instead of just people arguing about how best to replace my ideas, they actually program their ideas themselves. But no luck. Everyone just wants to replace your ideas with theirs and thinks your ideas are lame, but they still want you to do everything yourself. Sure, I had artists and a couple programmers in one of my projects, but a lot just joins because they have 'an awesome game idea' and they want you to make their games for them. It comes to a point where just thinking about the game idea gets you to sigh in depression. Nowadays, I've learned my lesson. Only ask for help from specific people whom you know are helpful instead of an open forum. Anyway, I can't help as I'm making my own games on my own currently. If you are stuck with something and needs ideas, I'll probably be able to help in some way though don't keep your hopes up. All the best.
@Ai chan I understand this, know that I and many others too, have once walked the same roads and met similar ends. If you have not already, find ones you sync with, find your dream team, or perhaps one day a dream team will find you. And to all creators of things, may we sooner rather than later find our own birds of a feather
That's actually a great idea. I was planning to implement hidden skills and compounds skills. So you can learn a new skill by say, using fire and wind magic together. Or skinning and swordsmanship to learn a quicker skinning skill. The skill system hasn't been tested yet anyway. There are some diamonds in the rough xD On a side note, here's the one of the other test projects: Link: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/sro71injcdrm17d/AADd_zx1FVPUcHhTwD--Grv_a?dl=0 Testing item collection, levelling and 1 skill. Added a visual aide for this as well. To reiterate, this is not the final solution. The final solution will look vastly different.
Well, Character Art and Background Art. Okay, Background Art only, since we still have some on board for the char art. Hehehe~!
