To search for a forgotten title ,go to: Forum -> Noc If you mean you were able to find 'I am looking for' then - click on it . On the upper right corner in a blue box you will se 'Post new thread '. It's font size is pretty big compared to the font of the rest of page and is the only blue box.
For the record, you need to wait 30min since your first post, or 24h since account creation (whichever comes first) to make a new thread. You weren't able to make a new thread because you didn't fill those pre-requisites.
I’m really sorry if this is a stupid question (it probably is). I can’t seem to figure out how to start a conversation/ dm. When I click the conversations/mailbox items it doesn’t have the option. Also, when I click on someone’s profile it doesn’t seem to have the option to start a conversation either. Idk if this is the right place to ask as I’m new to NU.
You should be able to create one now. New accounts have a handful of limitations on what they can/can't do. To create a new conversation you need to wait 24h since account creation, or 30min since your first post (whichever comes first). It's been over 30min since you posted this, so the button to start a conversation should be visible to you.
Umm, I wanted to post a reply on a thread, but I deleted it by mistake, because I thought that I double-posted it. Is there a way to recover the post? (I know, it sounds idiotic.)
A mod might be able to recover it for you. Try contacting one. And don't worry, it happens. NUF auto-merges double posts, as those are against the rules, so this actually happens with some frequency.
