Nose twitches at the scent of food, rose-coloured eyes crack open, and glances around.

"Is this... the canteen—YES! FOOD!!"

Glances up at person dragging me, and sees Haruko.

"Haruko..." Face is red with happiness, staring up dreamily. "You're such a great friend!!"

Leaps from Haruko's grasp and runs towards food like a maniac, grabbing everything on sight whilst ignoring Fossil's warning about checking for poisons.

Gobbles, gobbles.

Turns to Haruko, tears shedding.

"This is so yummy—"

Freezes. Face pales, then drops down to the ground.

"UGHHHHH!!"

Status: Poisioned.

 

And another one falls prey to the food here. Looks like Doctor Haxagen is needed in the school grounds

 

Clutches onto Haxagen with a purple face.

"Wh-where is this... ugh..." Poison is sinking in rapidly, causing visions to distort and brain to pulsate. In a feeble tone, "Where is this Doctor Haxagen...?"

Staring into Haxagen's voice with a deathly look, sight returns for a brief moment, just enough to capture Haxagen's face.

"Hang on... aren't you Doctor Haxagen?!"

 

Indeed I am! And I can cure almost anything! With a slight injection here...

*Lifts up a syringe as tall as a person*

 

Face changes into a colour between purple and white.

"Uh... uh..."

Stares up at syringe, mouth gaping.

It was like the nightmare of a needle phobiac. Unfortunately, I was a needle phobiac.

"Th-th-that's..."

Voice is interrupted by coughing as condition worsens.

"Ugh..."

Glances back up at Haxagen, forcing a weak smile while trying to avoid looking at the giant syringe.

"I-Isn't there a smaller syringe...?"

 

The Doctor stares at the syringe in his hand.

"Oops, wrong one."

He sets it down on the floor, before taking out an extremely small syringe from his coat pocket. There is a vial of glowing green liquid in said vial.

"Hmm. This is my smallest syringe."

 

"Wr-wrong one?!"

I almost choked.

Feeling a volley of 'bakas' surging to tongue (TSUNDERE), I pushed them back down, shaking a head of strawberry pink hair.

"Pl-please..."

Kneeling on the ground, clutching the ends of Haxagen's white coat, or what I thought it must be since he was a doctor, or at least I hoped he was.

"Ca-can I have t-the syringe...?"

Pleading eyes stared up at Haxagen.

 

The Doctor looked at the girl, and handed the syringe to her.

Edit: At the same time, he decided not to tell her that using it would give the user a squirrel tail for 3 whole days.

 

Grabs the syringe shakily, glances down at it, then shrieks.

"Wah!"

Drops syringe on floor.

"I-I can't do it..."

Glances up at Haxagen.

"Can you help me do it... please...?"

 

The Doctor nods, wrapping the girl's arm tightly to immobilize it, before finishing the injection swiftly and then proceeding to bandage the area where he had pricked. Before he left, he hands the girl a piece of candy, and tells her not to check behind her anytime soon.

Spoiler: What was in that Syringe

A cure for the poisons in the canteen food.
And a serum that makes people grow squirrel tails. 3 days of effect.

 

"Agh!"

Winces as the needle pricks skin, head in the opposite direction, staring at something far away.

Tears were bubbling to surface, but stopped when the Doctor hands out a candy.

"Thank you..."

Grabs the candy, condition quickly improving, purpleness from face fading.

Stares up at Haxagen tearfully.

"You're the best—WAH!"

Grabs onto tail end of spine feeling something poking out.

"WHAT THE HECK?!"

Spins around to glance down at rear.

"I HAVE A SQUIRREL TAIL?!"

Spins back to Haxagen, face turning bleak.

"Y-y-y-you... wh-what did y-you do?!"

 

Steps into the room
‘What’s happening?’

 

Runs to Haruko, grabbing onto rear where a squirrel tail has somehow taken form.

"T-t-this doctor!"

Points at Haxagen.

"He gave me a squirrel tail!!"

Moves finger to point at rear, turning around to show Haruko.

"Ahh!! This is so embarrassing!!"

Has forgotten that Haxagen saved her life due to the emergence of the squirrel tail.

 

Frowns
‘Haxagen you killed an animal and now you are bullying this poor kid (animal)!’

 

The Doctor frowns, quickly checking the rest of his syringes. He discovers that every single medicine he has on him has been mixed with squirrel-tail-growing-serum.

"Oops?"

 

Hides behind Haruko, face red, hands holding onto squirrel tail.

"H-how can I see anyone like this now?! My life is over!!"

Does not know that squirrel tail lasts for 3 days.

"Wahhh!!!"

Starts bawling, holding onto Haruko.

 

‘There, there you are so cute.... do you perhaps want some nuts....?’
I tries to hide my snicker

*sends Hexagon a message*
‘Good job!’

 

"Oops?!"

Blinks at Haxagen, then face turns murderous.

"Y-y-you give me a s-squirrel tail, and all you say is oops?!"

Grits teeth and squeezes eye shut.

"I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU, I HATE YOU, I HATE YOU!!"

Cries some more, thinking about how to live the rest of life with a squirrel tail.
