    You just offended a strong cultivator he wants you to give him/her your sister because he took fancy to her you wanted to keep a low profile but this cultivator noticed you and your sister and decided to ask for your sister to be his/hers or death but you refused thereby offending him/her

    Edit: The cultivator is slightly weaker than you but he has a strong backing and that's why he thinks he is above all others also you love your sister

    If he's stronger than me, then unless I get lucky like our MCs who find a rare treasure, I'll get killed if I try to fight him and my sister would just suffer right? I'd run away. If I'm lucky and become strong enough I'd come back and kill him.

    But really, I guess it depends on how strong they are, and how strong I am? Do I even like my sister? Knowing these rules, the sister is a damsel in distress so it's probably difficult to run away? If the sister is strong she can fight herself and there's no need to run away. If it was in a crowd or a tavern or something you could try and accuse them of being a lech and hope a random wuxia mc hears and steps in.

    And if all else fails, just kill them. You should have been wearing a mask in the first place if you wanted to keep it low.

    Is this under the assumption that I can actually kill him/her?

    Usually, this same scenario occurs to both when the MC is weak and strong.

    If I'm strong, I'll just ignore him and walk away with my sister. If he persists, I toss him away and continue.
    If I'm weak, I'll do something as a distraction and get my sister to escape first and follow suit. If he persists, we'll probably end up having to jump off some cliff.

    In either situation, you need to look cool in front of your sister. Be tolerant and forgiving to even scumbags, be strong enough to defend her, be thinking of her first in a crisis, and of course, not leaving her in a crisis.

    (Btw, that's what I usually see in novels. As for me, we'll probably try to beat the crap out of him together. My sis is bossy and can be bitchy. Or run together. lol)

    I would kill him...then desecrate his corpse, cook it, and feed it to his family...then I would kill his family, his clan, his chickens, and even his dog...I'm gonna go Chu Feng on his a*s...No one messes with my sister. Only I'm allowed to bully her.

    Pretend my background is much more complex and powerful than his. If he doesn't back down, kill/maim and repeat for his master.
    Edit: Also, if I kill him, frame someone else.

    Lots of people seem to be influenced by the plot armored MCs in xianxia, but I think the best choice is to just run. At least running away wouldn't incur the wrath of the powerful backing the guy has as much as killing the guy would.
