Oh my God, a novel with 621 5 stars ratings, what did I miss?!

Just clicked on a novel that wasn't really appealing due to its name: https://www.novelupdates.com/series/side-character-transmigrations-the-final-boss-is-no-joke/
It sounded japanese so I didn't bother checking it before. But now that I look into it, 621 ratings at 5 stars.
With only a few bad ratings, it sure dope my interest.
199 Chapters available, I didn't read it yet, but I feel like I missed something huge there.

Why did the Chinese author name its novel with a typical Japanese title?

It is either really good, or it has a really powerful fan base. Both of them may happen together, but I doubt you would have missed it in that case.

 

Honestly the name screams Chinese shoujou novel for me. Its a good novel. Worth a read

 

The story *will* feel rushed at times due to the premise, but imo the MC makes it all so worth reading.

The world needs more MCs like Shi Sheng

In the first review or something you see someone mentioning FOD which should be quickly wear the face of the devil which is one of the more popular novels in that group, the novel doesn't seem to be gay but review mentions him making a rapist gay and then him raping guys.
I'm sure this novel is at least influenced by the yaoi faction.

 

Maybe people secretly love rape novels..

I rate this novel as 3.5-4 stars. Shi Sheng is a kick ass MC and the story has a huge comedic vibe but I took the points off from the MC's very dark atmosphere especially when the rape scene occured in the recent arc, she just watched it happen. As if it's nothing. As a woman, rape isn't something that can be justified to happen just because Shi Sheng herself has a very sad back story which led her to be how she is in the story. If the person who watched was someone else, readers would've jump against that person who just watched it happen to an innocent cannon fodder. The novel just touched my bottom line so I stopped reading it.

I thought this was typical romance shit, but actually had a really fun time in the comments. I wished I read this when it was updating, because shit girls can find and write really savage memes sometimes.

 

Now Doomed to be a Cannon Fodder is a gem! Really something worth reading.

It's a good novel, I reckmmrer it for guys as well. The other side transmigrations like counterattack/s should be kept for the female community.

That's.... pretty true. Half or so my novels have trashy ratings still better than a lot of 5 rated ,barely 1 rated novels.

Nope I think it's more yuri because there are characters or mc's friends who secretly fall in love with mc. Mc flirt with girls and some heroine.
Mc is like male lead and male lead is like housewife.

People like mc like Shi Sheng who is OP, shameless and Badass. She is my top 1

 

No one should watch rape just happen. Either you are on the rapists side or the victims side, pick one.

 

Highly recommend reading this novel. The translator does an excellent job on creating a high-quality translation.
