Well for much part incest is a societal norm construct. In ancient egypt for example. Pharaohs married their sisters in order to consolidate dynasty power. But this may cause inbreeding by concentrating harmful recesive gene.
Even cousins marriage on the long term may cause inbreeding, just like Habsburg Kings.
On the other hand we had Westermarck Effect, to explain our rather disinterest on our siblings. But once again this effect may not occur if the siblings were separated in theirs early age or the siblings is adopted on their later years.
Even in the history we may find someone who marry their own siblings.
So yeah it really opinions based.
So yeah
