Love come in many forms. And Its our responsibility to both our-selves and the other party, to properly discern our Love and what it represents. There are several people online (even from NUF) who I love dearly and would not hesitate to say I'd take a bullet for. But I also know that our relationship is not meant to be something romantic. Pure, True Love, isn't always (I'd even venture to say 'Most of the time isn't') romantic.

Now I'm not trying to be dismissive, only trying to make the point that Online relationships (again, both romantic and friendships) often are hard to Discern, and more so when someone's feeling and heart are so deeply tied together like that, its is VERY VERY important that both parties make the effort to understand and solidify the NATURE of their relationship and communicate with each other what they think is best.

Not same, but there's not much of a difference.

For me, there is. Having a virtual hug won't necessarily comfort me after a bad day or stave of loneliness in the middle of the night. I personally need a more physical relationship. I've done an online serious relationship before and found that it just didn't work for me. Now, for some people, it might work just fine, but not me.

It will be very tough. Better to keep it as it is. Trying to dissect it may lead to misunderstandings.
There's a short story and a movie of the same name (Bengali, ofc) The Japanese Wife. Will you look at it in Wiki?

Well, I'm from a developing country too, but... Dunno, if I had to sacrifice my career to be with my loved one, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Not saying I'd become a full-time housewife though, I'd just need to find a different career or a different way to go about my career that allowed me to be together with who I love, I just prioritize my personal life over my professional life any day.

No, because does it look like I want my heart to ache every single day. Yeah and my mom would murder my ass if I told her that I have an online "relationship".

Black mirror got an episode that is just like that. It's called San Junipero.

In the episode, the main characters fell in love with each other in a place San Junipero. They were both girls and one of them actually never moved on from her deceased previous love. Following through the story, it was reveal that San Junipero is a virtual space where old people enter and enjoy themselves as the space allow them to have young "bodies" and live as they want. There is an option where after they die, they could stay in San Junipero forever by uploading themselves into that virtual space.

    Hmm.
Well I think it all depends on the people involved and how good they are at communicating. All relationships are a lot of work but ones involving more than two need extra work and communication.
I am in a relationship that a lot will find weird, wrong or any other descriptive negative words.
But with communication and commitment it is great. Definitely not the usual monogamous relationship for sure. But we are happy.

I'd really like to believe that the other details are irrelevant, but sadly enough, they are not. Man is a social animal after all and they just can't choose to ignore family and society in general.

No. That would be a seperate kind of agony, fit for masochists only, to have that love and not be able to touch. *shudders*

You remind me of a classic movie Guess Who's Coming To Dinner?
Virtual as in the only mode of communication is through internet or phone calls.
Indeed, it's frightful. But love makes one helpless...

    Sure, why not?

You miss out on the physical aspects of a relationship if you never meet up, and a purely long distance relationship is unlikely to survive that forever... but it’s not like you can’t get anything out of it. Emotional fulfillment, perhaps?

If nothing else, it’ll become a bittersweet life experience. Worth it.

    ...

That said, it’d be hard to find someone you literally could never live with.
