    Well, that's because the original language is English~

    Editing a TL to keep a perfect meaning and flow perfectly in English is really hard.

    Some stories don't flow that way though if you read some unedited novels or books.

    I feel like novels can't really be generalized based on where they're from, but English novels will have a better flow since they don't have to be translated to have a feeling and the slang comes more naturally.

    What makes a story good or bad is not from where do they come from, though that tends to influence the style in which they are written.

    The good english webnovels are far superior to almost the entire range of translated novels. All of the bad ones are far worse then the average translated novel.

    some are good, some are bad
    it always depends on us whether we like that certain novel or not
    if we like it then we read it, if not then just ignore it right?

    its a matter of taste after all

    The ratio of bad novels to good novels is worse for English web novels; there are a lot more bad ones you have to sift through before you get to the good ones.

    That's to be expected though, because the novels being translated are the ones that are good enough for someone to decide to translate, we don't see all the terrible Japanese/Chinese novels. Translations act as a sort of quality filter.

    Seriously, you are asking this question.What makes a novel good or bad is not it's original language but content.So,each language novel can be good or bad depending on content.You just have to find good ones.

    I'm personally more into the Xianxia/Xuanhuan genres as of this moment and as such I'm simply not really interested in English Originals... and yes, I know some Original authors tried to copy Xianxia/Xuanhuan, but I don't want to waste my time on those amateur works that some people are trying so hard to make them seem Chinese...
    There's also the quality filter that comes with translation as some people say...
    It depends on the novel, some are simply good and others are simply bad. I don't think they can all be generalized as being either good or bad.
    As for me, I simply don't invest my time on them.

    Honestly, my opinion on English webnovels is not high, although to be fair it has been a few years since I even really looked at any. It is also very probable that it was also largely part of wherever I read them. I feel they have a tendancy to lack depth(probably untrue really) and I don't trust them to continue (to completion){this is the main reason I don't give them a try these days}
