How about adding an Original Stories corner like in Royalroad or Wuxiaworld?
Just another avenue to promote your own works IMO.

EDIT: Move this to the suggestion discussion. Uh, I made the same mistake as the same layout when I posted my first 2 forum posts.

May I suggest we put it as a sub-forum under Novel Discussions.. as they are a type of novel, except they are not being translated but written. :)

Yep. I agree with sub-forum. I think it should be another categorie aside from "Novel Updates" & "General" in the forum.

As to what to call it, it should be something along the lines of:
    - Original Works
    - Fictions

Instead of just Fictions, most likely Fan Fictions would be the best term, as most people will wander into that section.. unknowingly and might see something they don't want too.

No. Let's not perpetuate the fallacy that any fiction that is simply inspired by another work is a fan fiction.

    Okay it's up.

Instead of a sub forum under "Novel Discussion", I gave it a new category to make it stand out more.

No. Fan fiction, "fanfic," is a work that uses a characters (or settings) based on another person's work. e.g. I write a story about Darth Vader and Naruto being magically transported to the French Revolution where they decide to save Robespierre.

It's a pretty old term too, so I honestly have no idea how the usage you mentioned caught on at places like Royal Road.

-shrug- It caught on way before royal road tho.. :/ so it's become widely used and people who see fiction now usually think of something else for some reason.
