Discussion Otome games you've played

My friend and I discussed this topic and i said I never played otome games but she told me isn't harvest moon an otome game? And now i realized it is in hvm mineral town, whenever you take a bachelorettes or bachelors route, you trigger heart events that increases their affection ahahah. So it also has some kinda hidden targets right? We have won, kappa, and gourmet so yah this realization blew my mind. Anyways i would like to know if you guys ever played otome games. ( is rivera the promised land an otome game? )

I’ve never played one

 

I used to play one from the sengoku era in Japan and some of the UtaPri series.

 

What determines whether or not it is an otome game is who the games are geared towards. There are terms such as galge an otomege/otoge. Galge is a game for boys where the protagonist (a boy) tries to hook up with a girl, or several girls. Otomege/otoge is the exact opposite, where the girl tries to hook up with a boy, or several boys. Therefore, Harvest Moon would be a galge, not otomege, though the game is more a simulation instead of a galge because you try to set up a farm, relationship only being the gravy. With galge and otomege, all paths lead towards a relationship.

Among the otoge that Ai-chan has played include:

4. The Second Reproduction
5. Edel Blume
6. Eternal Wish
7. Akuratsu ~Chijoku no Yuri Shimai~
8. Love Letter

These are just some of them, Ai-chan can't remember all of them. Ai-chan wants to play Akuyaku Reijou, Tabi ni Deru ~Soshite Kanojo wa, Densetsu to Naru~ , but can't find a copy.

I’ve played a lot tbh, but I don’t really play more than one or two per year tbh. Since they are easy to play and don’t require much from the player, I think they’re fun when I just really want to chill every now and then.

• And a number of others

I play more visual novels of other genres rather than just otome ones and let’s not get into eroge novels but all the ones I mentioned above are considered otome games.

As far as I can remember, I've only played Obey Me. I was planning to install and play A3! after buying a new phone.

And DDLC... I got into it honestly thinking that it's just another innocent dating sim
