Due to feeling like I had extra brain cells to kill recently, I have read some otome reincarnation novels. Are there any actually good otome games out there (like.. ones that have interesting stories and not just 'capture this target' plotlines) or are they all exactly what they seem like?
Out of all the otome games I've played, none of them are like the ones jpn otome game stories are about. For plot based, the most interesting one I've played was Code: Realize − Guardian of Rebirth and Collar x Malice (more plot base than romance).
There is some good ones on Stream and PlayStation TV/PSVita. If you want specific recommendations then you gotta ask for them specifically
Sorry, never played them. However most reincarnated into an otome novels are great. I really wished some of these novels had a game version.
IDK @Cole-Right779 the games I've played with romance in them are Bioware or Final Fantasy games. Or Transistor. All of which I have liked. I'm wondering if there are otome games/visual novel which are more along the lines of those games I guess.
I think your best bet is to play Collar X Malice first. Another good starter one I can think of is Amnesia. (It was my first otome game!) Look those up and see if they’re to your liking.
Be advised that Collar X Malice has a lot of bad endings (32). Also, a friend of mine really likes the Hakuoki series which is about edo/kyoto japan and the shinsengumi. Sadly, our heroine in that story isn't the most strongest person around even though she carries a sword with her...
