Right, so the grandmaster isn't so strong yet. He has better potential to be stronger, that's why he was made to die early. He isn't the "strongest" yet. But grid thinks the potential of items will win, he isn't afraid.
Mercedes was the one with the potential to be super strong. The Grandmaster has already filled out his potential.
Well, the game system is what it is. Like Jude's potential was one thing but then his potential was elevated after fighting strong people with Grid long enough. I'd say that the Grandmaster has filled out his potential until he becomes a legend. I think he might gain a handful of stats here and there but I doubt he's steadily increasing his strength. Or at least outside of the game's amping of NPCs.
Ten Meritorious Retainers... Anyway, poor Coke. It's like his image of Grid's companions undergone a severe perspective change after just one meeting
a legend is someone who has reached the peak of a certain profession like hunting demon, magic and crafting with the exception of pagma... being a yangban an all. kinda like a god of combat descending to the mortal world and can still beat any one in all aspect like sport and art even if its his first time doing it just because he is a higher form of existence... the grandmaster is an expert in all fields but can't reach the legendary standard yet in a single profession or has yet to paved the road for his own legend like piaro. piaro had a enlightenment before becoming a legend, maybe the grandmaster has yet to comprehend his legend.
But isn't it strange for the grandmaster to be strong enough to easily kill a great demon and yet not a legend? Maybe he's someone beyond a legend already?
Not really. The kid killer mage and emperor's bodyguard can likely fight on the level of a great demon too. The Emperor might be able to as well. He's probably like the water king in that he doesn't want to move for anything but when he does he's extremely strong.
I think rather than lack of motivation to move, the emperor is showcasing the strength of his empire by hinting that he does not even have to move at all. Well, at least that how I'll be when I'm an emperor of such a strong nation.
They were both killed by the dragon. Mercedes was killed before she could actually develop her potential. The Grandmaster has already developed his potential before the dragon attack with him being hundreds of years old and all. The purpose of the dragon attack was to kill off the strong NPCs so that the players can take over the continent.
i didnt mean "how", sorry, i got my words mixed up, i meant to say "why" if the grandmaster was so strong, he would not have died. he had the potential to be a strong npc, so he got killed off early. he didnt die. so now he can grow the empires forces. but that is no different than grid. his items are growing stronger as he gets stronger, the npc need to get stronger as the players do themselves to balance the game. i dont think grandmaster survivng is bad, because grid was strong enough to alter the game story, there needs something to counter balance his "potential " on the npc side a game with no challenge isnt very fun, if players get to roll through the continent and only fight monsters. edit:mercedes/farmer (i forgot his name), sticks, isabelle, kasim etc... there are a lot of npc on grids side that would not have made it to this point in the game had grid not changed the story line. grandmaster is just one more of these npc grandmaster might even be a counter to ares army raising skill for the npc side
What are you talking about? Dragons are by far the strongest things we've seen in the game so far. The dragon seemed to be at least level 1000. Even if the Grandmaster is level 700 he'd still get killed if he's caught between two of them fighting. It literally said in the description that the dragon could destroy the world if it wanted to.
