Because she is the eldest and going to be the head of family (the heir) (but doubt that really happens in the novel because she'll probs go on an adventure, and be caught by ml like all Chinese female lead martial arts , cultivation novels (well she is kinda already caught by him ) Patriarch for male , matriarch for female .

The MC is the SEVENTH young lady, so far she has two evil sisters and they are both from the same mother, the sister that first had a fight with her was her fourth ELDER sister, the sister with the whip is the ELDEST sister. These two plotted for her innocence to be ruined at the beginning of the novel so that the crown prince (fiance) can annul the engagement. Even though it looks like the fourth sister was the one that had plotted for that to happen but it was actually the eldest sister that was working behind the scenes.
Ahhhhh okay... then here comes my doubt again... if she had an elder sister then how can she be a matriarch...? why do her parents treat her like trash??
I've only started reading this book so I'm not too sure about the details but i think she's the young matriarch because of the fact that she's the Di daughter? Or it could be because of her special constitution? I think people actually knew about the fact that she was supposed to be a genius in cultivating but she couldn't for some reason and hence her title of a waste. Yeah I know. I get really angry as well BUT she might not actually be his flesh and blood so that's a plus! There is no way that he deserves to be He even injured her shoulder so badly that she spat blood as soon as she went back into her room, he was aiming to kill her but the MC managed to dodge the killing strike
