Have you ever used any pick up lines? If yes, then are they even effective? What I am thinking here is that pick up lines are a joke to amuse people mostly. To me that is. If not, have you ever heard or seen any of the pick up lines to be effective?

I don't trim my nails much since I don't have a person to trim them for, so I just wait until I feel like they've grown a bit long and trim them down to the line. "You'll do, get in the van" or however that pick-up line goes is a fascinating one. Only used a pick-up line once in my life. When I asked a girl out for the prom equivalent party.
I never used them, but I can see them working. The two things women pick up best in a man. Is confidence and humor. So a pickup line is right in the strike zone. It’s funny and it take confidence to do it. But than again if you went around and ask a hundred random girls on a date. I can see you getting a few dates. Or if you ask a random girl if she’d be interested in coming over to his place. I can see at least one in a hundred maybe interested. Especially if the guy looking good
Pick up lines are everyone's butt of a joke sometimes. And sometimes it gets to the point of being overhyped in a group discussion and I don't like that. So, I was asking whether they are really worth the hype. I myself can imagine myself getting a laugh or two from one, but not much more.
Some pickup lines. I would seriously use. Do you believe in love at first sight or should I walk past again? Hi, I’m Mr Right, somebody said you were looking for me? My buddies bet me that I wouldn’t be able to start a conversation with the hottest person in the bar. Wanna buy some drinks with their money? See my friend over there? He wants to know if you think I’m cute. You’re so beautiful that you made me forget my pick up line. Hey, do you have a couple minutes for me to hit on you? Now honestly I think I could get a smile or two from these lines and than a conversation. Than maybe more. Especially since I’m not bad looking. Lol
This is such a copypasta thread(I made it years ago and I've seen at least 2 more pick up threads). Normally pick up lines are a joke but good ones exist that are just funny enough and not a teenage joke.

Then I said: "Heyyyyy, beautiful~ [insert bad pun] Would you like to go out with me?" That's how it is in real life for me. Now, write that down for me into the script. If it can happen to me, then it can happen to that character.
