Ah, I still remember when Player Unknown sprouted this idea in DayZ years ago. Never knew he would be this successful. Good times, good times. I wish he would attach few maps for the game tho. Unlike PUBG, his DayZ mini-game happened in various locations, making it more unpredictable.

Still, did the game optimized now? Last time I played, it was spiky as hell, max FPS I get was 20-35, even with lowest settings.

P.S. what server are you playing on, though?

If you haven't seen the [Hunger Games] movie series, then won't understand why.

It's kinda like that, yet far from that. Sort of, but the base idea is sorta came from that. Survival of the Fittest. Kinda more like H1Z1's [King of the Hill] mode yet less complicated.

The game is still really shittily optimized and you're playing with a massive disadvantage unless you have a top tier rig. I actually never knew about this until I saw videos of people playing with 1080's, aiming and movement is 10x smoother at the very least. So I stopped playing because I still use a shitty old graphics card and beat up cpu.

It's famous because it left early access despite being a buggy mess. It's also selling on Xbox as a full game. Other reasons for being famous could include banning players for killing streamers as well as using bought assets in the game.

I'm pretty sure PlayerUnknown was inspired by the Japanese movie, Battle Royale when he created his mod back then. Also, there were other similar mods that came before his, so he wasn't the first either.
