A never ending series of cultivation levels.

Author keeps on introducing new places or countries with the same cliche plot over and over.

The Female interest has a 9 yin body and gets abducted by some super sect and is made into their saintess. She has no memories and the sect hates the MC.

The MC gets a new love interest every few chapters.

The continuous sect fights and the idiotic champions of the sect.

    And many more.

I agree either it’s to slow or to many side quests.

I also agree to the whole V card trials thing. Their reluctance to get laid is understandable, but after a certain point it’s becomes ridiculous.

All of these are good reasons to drop a novel.

When author pushed impossibly convenient brain dead defy logic or completely out of character twists and turn to save the main characters depiction.

I've read various quality novels and I've dropped a lot of them because of laziness and procrastination.

Whenever I don't get entertained by it due to various reason like dragging the story, repetition, lack of planning, illogical writing, glorification to the main character and wish-fulfillment fantasies, easily droppable even if I invested hundreds of chapters of it.

What ticks me off is the princess saved from a castle moments and they suddenly throw their panties at MC. Come ON! YOUR A FUCKING PRINCESS THE FUCK YOU DOING!!!

Not Much on the dropping side but it irritates me when MC just randomly saves a plot device (Important person or an item) and
LITERALLY USES IT ON THE NEXT CHAPTER and its the only thing that can actually help them in that situation.

Basically author hand holding is what gets me closer to dropping a novel.

One reason for me would be if one of my favorite characters in the novel dies. (Yes, I know, I'm a huge wimp.)
I like happy endings, and for me, knowing that a character dies just turns the ending into a bittersweet one. I don't want to spend time on a book, only to realize that a favorite character doesn't get a happy ending. I rather just stop reading and think up my own ending for the story, haha.

Forced developments that defy everything the author has written before it.
Like in Arifureta. It was a perfectly fine dark-ish fantasy, single strong heroine and MC that would supposedly kill anyone who gets in his way, since he only gives a damn about himself and his partner.
Then the instant he left the fisrt dungeon, BAM! The single most annoying character I have seen in a while pops up, roping him into a business that does not concern him in any way and clinging onto him like a glue.
With the attitude he was supposed to have at that point, you would expect him to kill her and be done with it, but he would not be a Jap protagonist then. No, he immediately derailed into the harem route, getting pushed around by this weakling and helping her tribe for no good reason.

Or another novel, where the MC was supposedly close to a god, hating troublesome things and having no interest in women, so what the author does? Make him chose troublesome actions, that only serve to expand his harem, over simple solutions.

Last time I dropped a novel...

MC beat 3 enemy country's ace-level combatants solo.

100+ chapters later (several years in the story), author spends dozens of chapters hyping up a conflict against someone who just barely broke through special-class (1 tier below ace).

    1) NTR/ RAPE
    2) MC or some other character has too much plot armour.
    3) No matter how many chapters have passed, MC keeps struggling (like tragedy after tragedy), as if he is in endless despair.
    4) Wayyy too naive MC or environment.
    5) Sudden change in theme like from medivial isekai to sci-fi.
    6) Memory reset or MC had too many best friends or even lovers in isekai. But he purposefully runs away from them or forgets them.
    7) Novels which pointlessly drag too much
    8) Novels with no logical explanation and has too many pointless things.
    9) Women doing cliche things.

Same, after the "reset" and the whole shenenagins described in my first post I read a little into the sci-fi arc and just couldn't go on, not only he was evolving exactly the same way as before now he was also in a bullshit post-apocoliptic earth from the future. Fantasy or sci-fi, decide on one genre damnit you whack author!!!

Oh that is a definite peeve for me. I can't stand it when a MC buys a slave, and the slave instantly falls in love with the MC. Nor can I stand it when some slaves are treated as of high-status just because they have a powerful owner. I always think of real slavery. Then I see how glorified it is in novels. The MC never mistreats their slaves; they protect them; feed them; and hemorrhage money on them. And I think BS the whole time.
