So I loved "Borne of Caution". More so since the MC feels "real". So when I saw Pokemon Animus had a decent rating, I decided to try it out. Turns out the MC is a creepy Douche who instead of freaking out about the fact he woke up in an apparently different world with no memories, tries to bang the Hot Doctor within the first 3 chapters. Does he basically stay the same? Or does it get better.
Seriously. I liked Borne of Caution, because the MC felt "Real"; he had gone through one of the worse experiences a person could probably go through (surviving a nuclear explosion), and went through all of the stages of both grief and trauma. In the other one, it might be argued that because the MC doesn't have any memories, he's a bit more open, but he just totally brushes off the situation and starts dating the first hot, single woman he meets.
Yep, characters like these are the worst, it's more worst when the author ignores the main cause and keeps the story running without trying to solve the main problem of the characters. Ruins a good story because of the author's lazy planning/writing..
Bruh read "The Natural" by lightningwarrior. Also "Sacrifice and subjugation" by metaldragon. These two are on the top of my list for most realistic Pokemon fanfiction. There's also "I just want to travel the world" by banix and its many derivatives but his stories are either too happy go lucky with a shade of misfortune or just very depressive so yeah....
