Discussion POLL, do you guys use NUF, or NU in school?

Because undergraduate was easy. I could skip most classes and never study and still pass (had a 4.0 too, so it wasn't like it hurt my grades). The only things I had trouble with were early graduate level abstract mathematics (group theory... Oh how I hated that) and quantum mechanics (primarily because I tried to understand it... It did not work).

Everything else was simple to me. Engineering was a joke, literature could be improvised the day of, calculus is second nature to me, chemistry is basically arithmetic, philosophy just requires logic and a bit of wordplay, history I memorized as of ninth grade, and I avoided physical fitness because... Well, reasons. And I took high level courses in all those subjects, too.

i sure do.... because nuf is my school... it has a lot of classes like "how to recognize a pervert 101" "psychology focused on mental illnesses" "biology of a trap and similar species" "social studies of harem relationships" "advanced studies of fetishes"; it also has practical classes like "internet beating" (fs teacher sure has a temper...) "hijaking for starters" "a practical study of spam" (this class is popular, it even has many teachers under @Pie ) and many others...

 

I use NU all my classes apart from physic. Even thought I have 9/10 as vote without listening at all my teacher keep pestering me

 

During high school I couldn't really do it... I can't read on mobile, it's extremely uncomfortable for me. As for classes where I had a computer, there was only during informatics which were only 3 hours per week in the first 2 years and the next 2 it was 7 hours per week, also that was my favorite class so I wouldn't skip on it. Even if I had a computer available at other classes I probably still wouldn't because I prefer having a bit of privacy...

 

I am a student that is between the good-average ratio. NUF is a nice way to pass the time especially when you are a loner-ish person.

I still listen to class lectures but I am completely hopeless in Math and PE. Other subjects I can do well when I am diligent enough... which rarely happens.

Anyway, NUF is a illusory yet happy place in the lonely, monochromatic prison that is called school.

 

As for reading, that's even less of a subject because I can't concentrate on it when there's surrounding noise. And my classroom was noisy as f*ck, even during classes. Actually I was so annoyed I almost swore at the supervisor during an exam because he just couldn't shut his trap... he kept talking with other students about life and whatever in a somewhat loud voice and I couldn't concentrate on reading the problems...

 

I know how you feel. I really do not like noisy people. They interfere with other people's businesses.

 

I spend most of my time at job doing that.

 

When I was in school I would get on for a bit when things got slow or I found myself dozing off.

 

Well my school kinda doesn't allow mobile phones or electronic devices

 

I'm in college so I do what I want.

 

When I was in school, NU and NUF didn't exist yet.

And isn't group theory learned in undergraduate? At our univ, Algebraic relations; groups; pemiutation groups; groups of symmetries; group action; rings; integral domain; fields are learned at 2nd year 2nd sem. Or are you a physics major and not a math major?

 

Not exactly for the first. My schooling has usually been pretty low level at best, but I am extremely good at self study and understand things at an unusual rate. So I guess you could call that above average perception?

Yes, group theory is learned in undergraduate. For math majors, which I wasn't until senior year. I graduated as a double (well, triple technically but the third doesn't count) major.

 

Yes, since if I'm reading manga or something the people behind me or the TA would notice.
I only do this in big classes though, since my smaller classes don't have slides and we have to take notes just on the lecture :\

 

Not in school. But I pretty much use it wherever I am
