I mean if you say you drop it after sure .It brings attention to the novel, and maybe someone else will pick it. I hate when some people translate 1 ch and then say they translate it but don't do it for like 3 months and no one else wants to translate because of honor rules between translators.
i for one, do. they waste my time. unfortunately, usually more damage is done than good. if that particular one chapter ends in cliff, or has nothing notable to garner enough interest or translated badly, be it mtl, or the translator happens to have low grasp of english (i saw this very often), it'll get voted down. Most translators avoid low-rated novels by default. and it'll be harder to convince them otherwise. not to mention, a lot of translators actually put heavy emphasis on a title's "virginity" (i kid you not). if you only want to translate a chapter, just create a pickup thread, put your translated chapter there. don't waste time (yours and ours) submitting a novel page. let another, more interested translator do that (probably with their own version of title translation)
