I read this manga a long time ago about Intersex which really opened my potato eyes to new horizons.

What is Intersex?
Intersex people are born with sex characteristics that lie between those of typical males and typical females. (leeched from Wikipedia)

Population Statistics
Wikipedia states that up to 1.7% of the people born can have intersex variations or 1 in 1,500 births.

Le Situacion
In the manga, the doctor states that cases like these are usually rare because doctors usually recommend parents to decide on their kid's sex to lessen the number of complications the kid faces (whether it be physiological, social, physical etc) when they grow up.

Le Question
Assuming that you die one day and reincarnate into the body of an intersex baby, how would you like to decide your gender?

When, where and if with or without my memories.

If just for experecing female body functions i would not bet a next life on this male body is easier on long run no periods no pregnancy.

On the biological level as far as i know a °hermaphrodite° is born as XX so female and if that person try to be male on longterm she becames infertile in both biological genders in that situation i would stay with female XX gender to leave that option open.

 

If i retain my memory then i choose being a male. I'm straight, if i was reincarnated with intact memories, it would be weird if i was somehow turned gay.

 

Do we have to choose? Can we remain neither not to deal with the issues each has?

I think that this term is not used for humans, it would mean you have both FUNCTIONAL set of sexual organs.
