im going to go with a cheat as more often then not you will find examples of plot armour in all forms of media not just xianxias

Cheats are for the JP reincarnated and or transported to another world. In "xianxia" you have "Heaven defying treasure" instead.

 

The novel is about their life.

 

Where would you see an MC that has no cheat abilities or items?

It's more about being aware he has a plot armor rather than having one. (I think)

 

It's just about a mere luck.

 

Super powers=plot armor. Whenever you need it, the power will appear/evolve. Mc are always - in xianxia, the most blessed, the most lucky, the most ...whatever.

A normal individual cannot become a xianxia MC, either they have to be no1 assassin/ pedo( total age with reincarnation shud be in 30s to 40s but they fall in love with 15 yr old kids)/ a heaven defying genius/ have no problem with change in society(a new place with diff morals and cultures)/ no identity crisis etc.

Anyway, what makes an ordinary individual into a xanxia MC is most often a mix of all your three options.
However, I think that having impossible luck is the best way to summarize everything. Lucky occurence saving the MC, lucky discovery of a peerless treasure, lucky encounter with peerless beauties. Luck is best stat.

I disagree. A cheat doesn't necessary mean that they can dominate others. Slave Harem is a perfect example of this. It just gives him more versatility.

 

Generally there are exceptions to the rule.
I don't read slave harem so im not too sure on his cheat

 

His cheat is that he has extra 'Character Points' to allocate and change his abilities/equipments and also he can change his class and have multiple classes at the same time.
I think you are using cheat MCs as too broad of a term. MoM is another example of a 'cheat'.

It's better to just say OP MC to specify what you mean. That's just my opinion on the term.

 

What makes MC a MC different than normal villager, normal OP man, normal cheater is that they are a Chosen One, by Author I mean, without an author no one will tell you story :<
