Aye, but wouldn’t that be of Scottish descent and ethnicity?
It's kinda interesting to look at it from this point of view, because like... I know my father's family comes from Portugal (I think they came to Brazil at around the time of my Great Grandfather)... However, that's only the branch of my grandfather's family from my father's side, my grandmother's family from my father's side comes from Italy, and then there is my mother's side of the family that I know nothing about.
If you try putting that together and then asking me what is my ethnicity... I'd say Brazilian, because it's a mixed bag of different stuff, so it only makes sense I identify with the country I was born in. But this kind of option isn't there...
I chose Portuguese in the end, but I don't think it fits very well~
My ethnicity is a small ethnic, even in my country we aren't well known.
7 of them lol, gujarati marathi tamil telegu kannada bengali punjabi
edit : looking at the extended poll there are two more, malayali and sindhi (sindhi is more pakistan tho )
actually no telegu/tamil is name of both the language and the people speaking those languages
Question, how the F did you guys come up with this?
When your mom's ethnic group was listed, but you use patrilineal system...
