I just want to know what most people would choose if provided with these options when creating character in RPG. Note that I only give provide option that most likely will appear in a typical medieval fantasy themed RPG setting, so no stuff like guns or magitech stuff or something very seldom appear and unconventional like cards.
Of all fuckeries I picked the common Sword, One handed no less. Spear is said to be a simple weapon to use, a difficult weapon to master. While swords has been with us humans for a shitty long while. Also, one handed so that the character may use his/ her other free hand to parry, block or cast spells. Mace or blunt weapons may be useful against undead foes or in enemies that are resistant to slashing damage, it is more of a focus weapon for armor break and generally have the tendency to NOT have critical hits. Axe suffers from imbalance. Bows and arrows are heavily limited by their amount and attack power. So does magic, though Linear Warrior Quadruple Mage applies, but I rather my main character to have the ability to survive the initial blast. Assassins are cool, but limiting them to ridiculous short range weapons useful against human adversaries but not monsters are dumb. WHO THE HELL TRYING TO RECREATING CAPTAIN AMERICA BY JUST GIVE A SINGLE SHIELD AND NOTHING ELSE?
Spear or halberd is the obvious choice for any amateur without experience with weapons. The stabbing movement is the simplest, decent range, and enough for self-defense. In exchange, any slashing or complex movement is more difficult than swords. Though, one movement is more than enough for any self-defense, especially for animals or monsters that without significant intelligence.
Assuming the first area you explore is a forest (beast) Pointy Iron with longer stick - some distance, pierce, bleed but if it is dungeon with no live(undead) Slab of iron on top of a stick -blunt force
No I will never add bricks. I never heard any RPG with literal brick as a weapon. As a usable item in Battle? Maybe, but still no.
Slab of iron on top of a stick assuming this is beginner weapon, pick it, they probably use brick with hole... just dismantle it and you got your brick which has better durability than weapon you got (fukin cheap stick)
Learning from Goblin slayer, I see. But I think a dungeon is still enough for a stabbing movement, yeah? I mean, your front and back space is literally free.
In terms of primitive melee combat, the spear takes the cake (history says it all). Though, I'd argue that the halberd and pole-axe is better in terms of pure battle capabilities. Overall, the spear is definitely the best. It's easy to make, easy to use, and very effective. But in terms of utility and convenience, a dagger or knife is the best one, I think.
Forgot, but think there are some with it... then there are games where panties are weaponized, like Elona.
holy brick used for undead enemies one hit 100% chance stun for 5 sec super weapon. There is normal use brick too but it has 100% chance stun but it doesnt do much damage 5-5.
if possible Unique item, no duplicate Recoverable after battle or 30% chance to retrieve after taking melee action Atk :5-25 SKill1 :STR→DMG↑ Skill2 : DEX→STUN↑
