Welcome to Prometheus Agency! Prometheus Agency (or PA, for short) is a cyberpunk roleplaying game where you took the role as one of the many citizen inside Voltulin, a large metropolis. The struggle to live everyday live is always hard, especially so in a metropolis that is controlled by the many megacorporations that are also fighting for their own dominance in the large metropolis. Among the many power inside the metropolis, there is a small but mighty agency known as Prometheus Agency. You got yourself registered in the agency, hoping to make your life easier by accepting their various missions and tasks. The agency accepts anyone, as long as they have an ID. But that also means that the agency also will take any mission, disregarding the danger and risk involved. That’s the basic of it. For more information, read the Lore Page, Location Page, and Misc. Rules

1. Please note that this RP might deal with more mature content. If you are uncomfortable with that kind of topic, please avoid playing this RP. Please be aware of this prior to joining.
   
2. When creating a character, please keep the setting in mind. The staff may give suggestions for changes when necessary, but we'd like people to exercise their common sense.
3. Do not make OP character. Personally, it is boring and it lack any good interaction possibility with the other member. I recommend start small and weak, but improve your character through interaction with the other member.
   
4. Godmodding is strictly forbidden.
5. No messing with other people's characters.
   
6. Follow the limitation that is listed. Feel free to ask the GM and staff to in case you need more information.
7. Although the Cyberpunk setting is dark and often explicit content-wise, please keep the mature topic in moderation. That means no explicit sexual content, no excessive swearing (it is not forbidden, but try to tone it down), and no excessive depiction of violence or any kind of mature content. The staff will warn you when we see something that goes too much.

Registration Flow

1. Member will fill the following form.
   1. Name
   2. Race (Please look at the race limitation post)
   3. Age
   4. Gender
   5. Short Background
   6. Profession
   7. Class
   8. Appearance (optional)
   9. Personality (optional)
   10. Agency Point (put 0 at first. Don’t change.)
2. Profession is the character’s occupation that they put in their ID card.
   
3. Class is the primary characteristic of your character’s occupation that they registered to the agency, regardless of other skills. Everybody will start at Lv 1 Class that they can increase by buying certification using agency point that can be gained during mission and normal RP. Class will be the factor that determines whether a member can take a certain mission or not.
   
4. The choice of class are as the following:
   1. Combat
      This class covers any profession deals with stuff that required combat ability. Example : Mercenary, Sniper, Martial Artist, etc.
   2. Medical
      This class covers any profession that can use medical skill, both inside and outside of hostile situation. Example : Doctor, Paramedics, Nurse, etc.
   3. Artist
      This class covers any profession that deals with art and entertainment. Example : Singer, Writer, Painter, etc.
   4. Engineer
      This class covers any profession that deals with technical stuff. Example : Mechanic, Netrunner, Rigger, etc.
   5. Business
      This class covers any profession that deals with business stuff. Example : Accountant, Secretary, Merchant, etc.
   6. Services
      This class covers any profession that deals with the service industry. Example : Waiter, Chef, Hair Stylist, etc.
   7. Occultist
      This class covers any profession that deals with the occult world. Example : Shaman, Mages, Fortune Teller, etc.
5. Several notes for making your character:
   1. The character must be a character that can live normally inside the Metropolis.
   2. While underworld character is allowed, they must have a proper explanation or backstory of how they can be allowed to register at the Agency because the Agency has a very wide network of information, meaning a simple “their identity is hidden” will not suffice. The Agency accept anyone and everyone, but not someone that have too much trouble with the authority.
   3. The character must be able to get their ID issued by the government.
   4. While there will be combat mission, but the majority of the mission and the whole RP will not be combat oriented.
   5. Only register one character at a time. If there will be a companion (an AI, pet, or anything else), put them in a spoiler.
6. After the member choose the class and finished their form, the GM or staff will appraise it and then they can start their RP in any desired location.

Roleplaying Flow
There are 2 kind of RP: Free RP and Mission RP.
Free RP will be as the following:

1. Member will choose the location of their RP and also the sublocation if they wishes to.
2. They will write their RP with a header of [Sublocation Name] on top of their post. If there is no sublocation, write [General Vicinity].
3. There will be no set mission so they are free to do anything as long as it is logical and still follow the rules.

Mission RP will be as the following:

1. Member will apply for mission from the Mission Board. Remember, each mission needs a certain prerequisite of classes and other thing. Tag any staff that will check the member’s application.
2. After the application is approved, the member can go straight into the location ad sublocation of the mission to start their RP. They have to finished their objective while still following the rules.
3. Just like the Free RP, they will have to write a header. But the header will be [Mission Name | Sublocation Name]. If there is no sublocation, write [General Vicinity].
4. After finishing the mission, the member will need to tag the same staff in the Mission Board to report that they have finished their mission while also adding their post link in the mission board.

Limitation

Races
The limitation for races is as the following:

1. No gods, goddeses, deity, ancient being, or any divine being. They are too powerful to get through the Light Rain lorewise. And mechanic wise, they are not suited.
2. No dragon, dragonkin, or anything similar. Lizardkin is fine, but they must not have any dragon blood in them.
3. No undead. Vampire is still okay, but it must not be an undead.
4. No elemental. Lorewise, they can’t get enough magic power in Neo Earth that has very thin magic power.
5. No joke race. Talking rats and talking cabbage, stuff like that. Make a proper race. Sentient plant race is okay, but you will have to make it believable how they live day to day in the normal society.
6. No alien. The technology of Neo Earth is advanced, but not advanced enough to space exploration.
7. A.I. must have a movable body before they can register. If they are still on a server and without any moving body, they can't be used.

Magic
The limitation for magic is as the following:

1. Magic is available in Neo Earth, but it is very miniscule. The reason for that is because magic power in Neo Earth is too thin to be able to support any kind of spell.
2. Magic is not used in every life. The reason for that is that it is just too troublesome compared to using the hi-tech facility that is available everywhere.
3. Necromancy is possible, but it is not an effective skill. Once again, the same a point one. The amount of magic to fully reanimate corpse is too much. It is far easier to make it into an android by injecting AI into it.
4. Druidism is available. The reason being that due to the Outworlder appearing, many of them carry their culture with them. Once again, their magic is not as powerful as a normal druid or shaman due to the thin magic power in Neo Earth.

Technology
The limitation for technology is as the following:

1. There is no spacefaring expedition. The technology level of Neo Earth is high, but still not high enough to allow an efficient way to explore the vast outer space.
2. The public transportation for everyday people consists of normal vehicle such as bus, tram, subway, and the usual cab. Flying cars are available, but they are more costly.
3. Implants and other biomechanical device are readily available, but not easily acquired due to their prices. Of course, one can always use the underground route to acquire it, but they will always have side effects.
4. Medical technology is able to replace missing limbs. Be it pure organic limbs or biomechanical one, it is possible.
5. Weaponry still use normal bullet. Shock gun and the likes are available, but not plasma gun or any high-tech sci-fi weaponry. That means no light saber.
6. VR and holographic technology is abundant and almost in every corner of the city, from simple holotablet to NetDive Helmet.

 

History of The World

The Light Rain
Year 20XX is a significant date in the Neo-Earth history. Right at the end of the long 10 years of the Global War, a strange phenomenon happened all over the Earth. Pillars of light fell on the ground after a slight storm. The pillars stayed for quite some time. Some for a whole day, some for two days, with the longest at a week. At first, meteorologist only dubbed them as normal weather phenomenon that can occur naturally due to the many ice crystal forming in the atmosphere thanks to Neo-Earth thick pollution cloud.

But then the pillars kept appearing more and more often. Although their duration getting shorter, the number of occurrences increased. Not only that, it is also often followed by a large storm with the light pillar as the center of the storm. The moment the light disappeared, the storm also vanished with them. It got stranger with each passing time as the intensity of the light turned brighter and the storm turned fiercer, making the phenomenon earned the name Light Rain.With fear for the worst, more and more research teams were sent to the sightings. They conduct research after research. So far, none was out of the ordinary.

But then in one location in the Empire of Kyo, an astonishing event happened. The same Light Rain happened. But the phenomenon itself is not what’s astonishing. It is what’s left behind. They left behind not only debris, but also people. A group of living people. They are dressed in medieval clothes and speaking in a different language. Of course, the foreign group acted hostile when being confronted by the team of researcher. Only after they calmed down they started to communicate. Or at least, tried to. Even after a team of linguist being flown to the site, none was able to determine their language. It was not a language anyone in Neo-Earth has ever heard. Not a single match could be made in the vast database of the world.

Only after the second Light Rain that happened in one of the regions in The Federation of Libertad that progress could be made. The same phenomenon happened. But there is one difference. One of the “newcomer” was able to use magic. A magic to translate any language. Of course, translate is not the correct one. The ‘newcomer’ mage said it was just to transfer what the user’s intention to the other party. But it’s a huge leap. With that, they could start putting the piece of the puzzle.

Not long after that, continuous sighting of the same phenomenon happened all over the world. Some left a friendly group of people that they can befriend, some left hostile group of people that turned into a full arm conflict. But progress was made and history was made as they continued to collect information.

Apparently, the Light Rain is a phenomenon that connects the world of Neo-Earth with the other worlds. All of the worlds have a similar characteristic. They are world that has the concept of magic in it and filled with various non-human creatures. The storm and the light pillar act as a gate that sucked people or anything from the other world into Neo-Earth. Sadly for them, it is a one-way gate. Meaning that they are stuck in their new world without any hope to get back to their original world. Of course, not everyone accepted that. While the one that refused to accept that faced a path of depression and destruction, the one that tried to accept their fate tried their best to adapt to their new home to survive.

The Metropolis, Voltulin
Due to the long Global War, the surface of Neo Earth has been scarred beyond help. The many cities that used to stand proud and tall all over the land are mostly no longer there. Instead, ruins and wreckage littered the land of Neo Earth. Ruins of once a beautiful settlement. The wreckage of what’s used to be bustling cities. Those are what most decorated the land all over the surface of Neo Earth.

Despite the sheer destruction the current Neo Earth is, hope has not vanished. The few remaining cities that have escaped the devastation have vowed to rebuild the civilization. Although not united under one banner, they still work together to rebuild the life of Neo Earth.

Their effort bore fruits soon after that. Many settlements, dubbed as Metropolis, sprouted in the land that was used to be the site for great cities. They are equipped with the latest technology man can utilize. Slowly but surely, they started to replace the many cities around the world. Not only that, they also replaced the hopelessness that once dwelled inside the survivors’ heart with hope that they can once again rebuild their life.

One of those many metropolises is Voltulin. Built in the continent that used to house more than a half of the world’s population, Voltulin is a melting pot of culture with the oriental culture stood as the most prominent culture. It is also seen as the world most technologically advanced metropolis due to the many economic giants that set that metropolis as their headquarters. Medical, industrial, military. Voltulin stood as one of the most revered metropolis in Neo Earth.

Aside from those facts, Voltulin has also become the center of many Light Rain sighting. Thankfully, the phenomenon rarely happened inside the metropolis sector. But they happened either on the outskirt or in the area at the edge of the metropolis’ range of operation. Due to that, it has turned into a large center of research for that phenomenon. And it also becomes the prime place for those ‘outworlder’ to stay and live, making it an even more diverse place.

But everything is not as it seen in there. Voltulin, due to being the headquarters of many economic giants, is actually not controlled by any government. Strange as it may be, it is the truth. In fact, it is not wrong to say that it has been bought by The Camua Co., by Neo Earth’s biggest megacorporation. Everything that is going on inside that metropolis is monitored and controlled by that megacorporation. Although there are a few other corporations that stayed there such as the Bishamonten Group and Zela Energy, those two cannot be compared to Camua. Camua Co. still holds the largest control over that metropolis with the rest being divided by that other two giants, the Bishamonten Group and Zela Energy.

The metropolis itself is not as peaceful and beautiful as it was promoted. Many slum sectors, filled with both normal people and outworlder, have been erected due to overcrowded. Violent gangs made of various race and nationality roamed the many dark alleys inside the metropolis. Elite citizen live in their own district, clearly unaware or just ignorant of the suffering of the people of the slum. Hard justice being delivered, not by the metropolis owned police, but by the many corporations paid armed forces. In short, live in there is not the easiest, unless you’re an elite citizen. They still give one hope. But it is best not to place that hope too high.

The Prometheus Agency
Amidst the many conflicts inside Neo Earth’s technologically advanced metropolis that is Voltulin, a small company starts to stand up. It is a small company built by a mysterious individual and has refused to be acquired by the many economic giants there, even the Camua Corporation. The name of that company is Prometheus. The Prometheus Agency.

Prometheus Agency (or just the Agency) is an agency that is known for their service in supplying freelance human resource to anyone, anytime and anywhere. Their range of service is very wide, from simple stuff like package delivery and catering to ruin exploration and military escort. It is very popular for they who are unable to secure an employment or them who are looking to gain extra money. Rumor has it that they are also able to provide service for illegal and dangerous request.

It is especially popular to the outworlder since the company has not a single discrimination toward the newcomer of New Earth. It is also known to be the one that solved most problem regarding the outworlder thanks to its various talent inside. Even the Camua Corporation used their service from time to time.

Known to have numerous web of influence, the Agency is not something that the megacorporation will take light with. It is especially true since they also used their service from time to time. As long as the job description is understandable, the Agency will quickly send their crew to finish the job.

 

Voltulin Location​

CENTRAL ZONE
Sub-Location: City Hall | Military Base

Central Zone is the area that houses the district 1 and 2. The Central Zone is part of the city located, just like its name, the center of Voltulin. The area is a special area that is specifically reserved for the government building and military buildings.

District 1, the smaller of the two, houses the City Hall. It is a very luxurious and large 10 stories building that acts as the central administration of the whole metropolis.

District 2 is the place where the location of the metropolis army base. It houses the many vehicles and weapons used by the metropolis armed force on a daily basis. The base itself is guarded by a state of the art automatic defense system. The same system also overseers the whole metropolis’ security and surveillance system.

UPPER CITY
Sub-Location: Camua Corporation HQ | Bishamonten Group HQ | Zela Energy HQ | Shechou Medical Central Hospital

Upper City is the area that houses the district 3 to 5, with district 3 owned personally by the Camua Corporation while district 4 and 5 are shared by the 3 mega corporations.

District 3, the district that is owned personally by Camua Corporation, is the place where their giant HQ is built. With a large building complex that has its trademark three skyscrapers. It is a building that acts as the central administration, central research facility, and also their base for their own private army.

District 4 and 5 is the place that has not one, but three mega corporations’ base. The Bishamonten Group, the Zela Energy, and also the Shechou Medical that also acts as the biggest hospital in Voltulin.

MIDDLE CITY
Sub-Location: Diamond District | Gold District | Silver District

Middle City is the area that encompasses district 6 to 8. It is known as the elite living are and also the elite commercial district.

District 6, nicknamed as the Gold District, is the elite living area. With its artificial river made solely for aesthetic purposes, the Golden District houses the upper caste of the metropolis. The many neighborhoods that are ranging from apartments, townhouses, condominiums, and houses could be found scattered in a very orderly manner, with the inner most of them being the most expensive of them all.

District 7, nicknamed as the Diamond District, is the elite commercial and financial district of Voltulin. In there, one could see rows after rows of high-end luxury stores, famous boutiques, pubs, nightclubs, and 5-stars restaurants. But not only for shopping and eating, establishment such as banks, investor buildings, and many kind of miscellaneous business could be seen there. The sight of tall skyscrapers are an everyday sight here in the Diamon district, the district that never sleeps.

District 8, nicknamed as the Silver District, is the middle-end living quarters and commercial area. Apartments and small private houses are plenty in here as it is the prime choice for anyone that is trying to move up the ladder of society in Voltulin. Although not as beautiful as the Gold District, the Silver District still has one of the nicer view since it also the place of Voltulin’s biggest park that is known as Urban Park.

LOWER CITY
Sub-Location: Birghison Shipping Company HQ | Industrial District | Chinatown | Fleatown | The Paradise

Lower City is the area that consists of the largest amount of district, from district 9 to 15.

District 9 to 11 is the industrial area and also the place where many of Voltulin goods are being produced. It is also the location of The Farm, a large industrial farm complex that produced almost 75% of Voltulin’s food and medical supply. Rumor has it that due to the numerous consumption rate, the Farm has started implementing questionable method of raising livestock and plants. But that is just a rumor. As in, no one can really say whether it is true or not.

District 10 is a special district owned privately by Birghison Shipping Company. It houses its large armada of vehicle for its logistic operations.

District 12 to 13 are the districts that act as the living area and also the lower end commercial district. It is the location of the Chinatown and also the Fleatown. Chinatown is the melting pot of culture in Voltulin. It is also acts as the poorer residents daily job provider that give menial pay. The Fleatown also acts the same as Chinatown, with the only difference that it is known as the place to get anything as long as one could pay. From drugs to illegal implants, one could find them here.

District 14 to 15 is the area infamously known as The Paradise. It is the housing district of the poor and also the place where people of questionable origin resides. In short, it is the slump area.

 

Misc. Information (on progress)​

The 10 Giants
The 10 Giants are title given to the world largest corporation that holds major power on Earth. They are the Camua Corporation (weapon, energy, and IT), Bishamonten Group (military and weapon), Birghison Shipping Company (logistic), Zela Energy (energy and mining), Shechou Medical (medical), Arch Education (education), Kova World Nanotech (nanotechnology, heavy machinery, general industry), Dinenko Media Unlimited (media, entertainment), NewBase Industrial (farming, chemicals, electronic), and Omegalink (banking, IT).

Camua Corporation
Camua Corporation is known as the biggest megacorporation in the world. With branch within every surviving metropolis in Earth, they have almost every kind of industry under their belt. They have at least 3 main branches, the Camua Arms (focused on arm and weapon research), Camua Energy (focused on energy and alternate fuel), and Camua Net (focused on IT industry).

Bishamonten Group
Bishamonten Group is a private military company that is known to provide armed combat and security services to the public, but most of their clients are from the elite society. Besides providing military contracts and one of the largest Zaibatsu, Bishamonten Group also specializes in weapon research, both for civilian usage and also for military usage. They are known for their ingenuity in combining modern technology with traditional knowledge.

Birghison Shipping Company
Birghison is known as the fastest shipping company that can reach almost every place known in Earth. Small or big, they still deliver them with the least amount of time needed.

Zela Energy
Zela Energy is a giant Slavic origin company that move in mostly energy and alternative power source industry. They control half of the mining operation in the world (with another quarter being controlled by Camua Corporation).

Shechou Medical
Shechou Medical is one of the biggest company that moves in the medical industry. They have hospital and small clinics all over the Earth and also a large research center in Voltulin.

Arch Education
Arch Education is known as one of the world most prestigious university. Locating in the north sector of Voltulin, the campus is made out of large tower that can accommodate a large of students and also research station.

How many years after the global war is it? Cause I want to make a soldier who worked during the global war and I want a minimum age?

 

As far as one can regrow limb from a single cell from the patient. Nanotechnology is already there, but still considered uncommon to the normal people.

How about research on bodily enhancement? As in research on improving the body through external means excluding using artificial and mechanical body parts.

(aquirred recently with his entire life savings) He has had his eyes replaced with nanotechnology that allow him to see in any weather. His fastest shooting speed with the sniper rifle ever was 30 targeted kills in a minute however due to age it is now only 10 targeted kills in a minute

With his family being poor, they rarely had enough food, and chemical waste and air pollution quickly made his already bad health turn worse, even causing him to gain a bleeding disorder. Deaths were common in the slums, and while the corpses were picked clean, nobody wanted to remove them themselves, so they pushed this task onto Victor. Having grown up doing it, it's one of the things Victor can do best. No questions, and no traces.

   During the Global War, there were many empires who forced experiments onto children to create bio-weapons. However not only were they experimented on, the prideful and respected warriors also used them as sex slaves . Hayden was part of this experiment for longer than he could remember and he vowed that IF he escapes this place, he will kill every perpetrator involved . In this experiment, he ended up saving Umbra and helping him escape. It turned out that Umbra was the son of the most renowned assassin Mist. After realizing what had happened, Mist helped Umbra save Hayden. Seeing potential in him, Mist took him in as a disciple and started training him as an assassin. However, due to an unexpected tragedy, Mist was killed and Umbra went missing while Hayden lost his eyes. Witnessing the death of his master and the disappearance of his beast friend and the pain caused by the wound in his eyeless sockets, Hayden felt insecure, afraid and traumatized, causing the nightmares of his past to flare up and causing him to faint. When he woke up, he did not know anything, not even his name. The only thing he remembered was his vow for revenge against the empires and the warriors of those empires that allowed these experiments to be held. Looking around him he saw a huge bag, in the bag he found a bow, throwing knives and a scythe. On the bag was written: ストーカー(Stalker). Not knowing his real name, Hayden decided to use the word "Stalker" as his name from then on. Using his weapons of hatred.

   Dread (bow): the calling card of the stalker, due to the high tension of the string, the arrows launched by this bow go further than others. A long distance and a quiet weapon. The perfect type of weapon for a silent assassin. Despair (throwing knives): these throwing blades are perfect for close range and silent assassinations. And Hate: a scythe with a cruel blade causing agony for many.

Walking around aimlessly on planet Earth, he ended up colliding with one of the pillars of light, and teleporting to Neo-Earth. Where he traveled even more and found Voltunin. Having no money, he had to live in "The Paradise". After finding a place to live, he had to find a way to make money, unfortunately he didn't have any skills that would have helped him live a comfortable life. The only thing he knew was how to kill, therefore decided to join PA as an assassin, to earn money and get stronger for his road to revenge. After losing his eyes, the only thing Stalker could use were his ears, allowing him to train them till he had unfathomable hearing capability, one of Stalker's wish is having the ability to see again, but because the treatment is extremely expensive, Stalker can only dream of a future where he can see. Who knows, maybe he can find his long lost best friend here to help him remember his past. During his times of endless wandering, he met an engineer, who helped him find a way to keep his weapons without having to look suspicious around others, also making stalker a suit to disguise himself. The engineer found a way to minimize his weapons, so they could fit inside his suit's tight pockets and could once again expand when he needs them.

    Some have walked these desolate worlds while you have slept. Some like me. I remember what you did. I remember the day.
    
    The Warriors returning to their respective empires, gleaming and victorious. Our cold and gold Emperors, breathless, bathed you in savior's silk. Then came the sound. Across all our worlds, all at once, the ceremonial Naga drums. A royal salute to the honoured Warriors. Ten solemn beats to declare the suffering was over. I watched from a distance, with the rest of the unfaithful children. With each beat terror began to crush my throat. The Warriors were not stoic and silent. They were waiting. They were poised. I tried to call out but only a strangled whisper escaped.
    
    Now I hunt, dividing your numbers. Watching from that dark place, cataloging your sins, I am the ghost of retribution. You may forget but you are not innocent.
