If each chapters are released massively, indication on novel updates provide awareness. If you hate it that much, try recommending the feature to have it added so that you can only see one line instead of several.

To be honest, having several extra lines are still fine since they are the definite proof of building awareness easily to readers.

What I hate though are people who make use of this and exploit them by making tons of parts in a chapter and mass releasing them. Ch7p4, ch7p5... Etc.

 

They can't.

People use the reading list to track down the chapter they are in. If someone read up to the chapter 67 and stopped, how would they mark it if the release on NU said 1-130?

Chapters need to be separate so as to allow people to stop at any point they want.

 

Yeah. I believe one could recommend a feature to be added, like filtering a novel to only reveal one line (the latest chapter) instead of several lines. This way readers can switch on/off the filter for certain novels that have several lines released simultaneously into one line instead. (showing the latest line)

 

Or people can use their eyes to skip the batch of chapters released.

I don't usually pay attention to it anyway.. I don't get why people don't go directly to their reading list..

If you're looking for something new, there's better ways of finding them. Hell, there's even a random option..

I usually always stay on top of novels I read and if I do not I check my reading list when I stockpiling other than that I find the front page better because I can see current releases while checking out new novels that come into the site at the same time. That is probably one of the top reason people use the front page. To check out novels that are not on their reading list while staying on top of current ones. If you lose your place just go to reading list real quick read up to most current than the front page works again.

 

Titles of novels can be changed by the author or publisher
So it is not a surprise, has nothing to do with translation

 

It was suggested in the past, I think Tony considered only showing the last 3 chapters of any series in the main page, but some people complained for one reason or another, so I think nothing came of it.

 

I think it should be added as a filter instead, and by default, it is turned off.

But one can turn it on if they want and adjust releases to show 1, 2 or 3 lines instead of 10+ that were mass released.

Just like the current filters here that can turn on/off certain novels, genres and tags. (I exclude the yaoi genre since I am a guy.)

 

You could always make a thread on the Suggestions and Bug Reports section if you feel like it's a good improvement for NU.

 

Yeah but I don't necessarily need it as a feature. In fact, more lines make me feel as though there are more chapters even though they are still the same amount with the filter on.
