    XXW TLs simply did it because they wanted to finish their novels. They willingly walked into a fire to complete what they started. I'm guessing the other TLs there are the same. Which is why I'm pissed to no end about the threats their getting

    And it also means that translators don't have any rights to their current work and their previous one! This is awful! I didn't think it was this bad tbh

    Wow, this is a piece of shit of contract. It literally means "If we fuck the translator, then he should enjoy it".

    Basically they can do whatever they want and the translator, even when he is fired, can't even talk or still have even his translator name!. This is bullshit, and even more they aren't considered part of the company, but as an external help!.

    Almost got screwed over at work with my contract a few days ago...
    But was lucky and saw it and asked for it to be changed.. so signed the new one today.. cheers

    Hahaha ya.... I remember my instructor at college always told us to always read through the contracts for a job. Reason being that companies like EA would always put in a line stating that the employee is required to work overtime (24/7) without additional pay when needed.
    O and almost forgot the most important one to look for as a programmer: "Any work done while employed at said company will belong to said company". Might sound simple but it actually means that anything you do, during or off office hours, will belong to the company. This includes any and all apps or games you make and sell in your free time

    Yes, and even worse - the contract says that Chinese Courts will have the final say :(

    Relevant section -

    any dispute as to the interpretation, enforcement, breach, or termination of this
    Agreement will be settled by binding arbitration in the China International Economic and Trade
    Arbitration Commission (CIETAC) in accordance with CIETAC’s arbitration rules in effect at the time of applying

    Cause they need more time to get a firmer grasp on the translators. When the translators feel most comfortable, that's when they'll resist the most, how Qidian lieks it... >=)
