I totally agree with you on this one, I'm in fact clicked the add to watch them as i really don't mind them before but just like you said it totally messes up the reading list now.

 

Yes, websites will do just fine IF they don't have people to be paid. Look, qidian is a company and they must pay their translators every month.

And I agree the locked chapters should not be listed on NU


@Westeller it's no use, only the old version of the app that allows you to read without watching the ads

 

I think the goal of the invasive ads is to piss people enough that they
a) Expand their readership for them by using spirit stones by getting friends and family to also read.

b) become less resistant to the coming paywall in addition to using the app.

Not to be outdone, the persevering readers are coming out with new ways to block the ads by using different scripts, search engines, different app versions, etc.

I'm never going to use an app that doesn't come with a change log, also is not on the play store ( i would from other companies but I have no trust in QI after uninstalling it and finding hidden files and folders still and having to remove them all by hand ),
the "new" spirit stones BS is a joke as it's a backdoor PAYWALL no matter how's it's seen as yeah free at the sec but I bet very soon your be able to by them,
I don't mind the ad's as you can skip after 15 sec's on a 30-second ad but I'm still p'd off no mute button.
well that not a 100% true as I've now found one but it's hidden under the skip count down and that makes the point of having one
a huge joke as you can't use it until you've viewed the video /facepalm @Qidian for that moronic idea

Also, I dont have problems with some add floating around somewhere on the Page. But as soon as I have to pay them Attention because they "Have to be Clicked" or make annoying sounds, its a No-Go in my Opinion.

it's nice to see that the new release of Assassin's Chronicle 57 ..that you need to spend 4 stones on or watch an ad is, in fact, number 56 lol ..glad I don't waste time with the stone bs .....it's a pity they didn't bother to check the released the chapter after posting

Edit: I may need to take that back now as it seems they have now changed it as 20 mins ago it was chapter 56 but listed as 57

 

I doubt it.... we will have at least a few months, cause paywalling now will lose them to many readers..... maybe a year too if we are lucky.... qidian may be ignorant and greedy, but I doubt that they are that stupid to make a paywall before they have more readers that are not relying on NU to see the releases.... but in time? Surely they will. Which means I will drop the last few stories i still read from their site. '_'

 

This is a good solution. It both benefits users that don't mind the adwall and users that refuse to utilize it.

 

i dont even know why people are bothered that a paywall is or not around the corner.....

if there is a paywall.... duh youre on the internet, almost anything that can be converted to data can be found free on the internet...

if there isnt a paywall coming... then good for me and other folks out there looking for entertaining stories...

about the adwall... i dont mind it too much, just wish they didnt use video ads, damn thing takes 30secs and uses up data....
also there are a lot of things to read online they dont really have all of the readable things online just a very small part of it..

im just hoping on an outcome where more translators are getting good money to focus on translating for leechers like me.... i leave all money related matters to those who have them as im just a poor boy

I miss the time when translators where respected for their work.
I miss the time when novels weren't tainted by money.
I miss the time when reading novels without fearing for payblock.
I miss the time when translators are paid their due.
I miss the time when stolen translated novels we're kept to a minimum.
I miss the time when Qidian didn't steal other peoples translation without permission.
I miss the time when readers still know what's the right thing to do.

 

Arguably, translators are still respected for their work...
But, the time where people still didn't know what Qidian was was the good times desu nya~
