I've been here for a while, but I'm making an account just because of this mess. I'm very worried and very pissed; why host the novels on your site? Why dual-host? Qidian obviously doesn't have a hot reputation; most people will definitely go read at Wuxiaworld. Hosting Wuxialworld's novels on your site without some conformation from Wuxiaworld is so...

Yeah, like someone already asked, please show us the license. It looks like QI seemingly think that any press is good and since they have money, they can delay the court case while making underhanded moves.

 

translators always have ownership over their translation, maybe not in china though Kappa

to be exact, if I was translating a JP LN, I can still get DMCA'd, but they couldn't use my translation without my permission.

 

Unfortunately due to the nature of litigation still going on, i'm unable to share any part of the contract small or big no matter how much I wish to.

@Qidian You didn't answer my question. Why the hell are you guys hiring fake translators who use machine to translate in their place? Can it even be called translation when google translate does a better job?

 

The only reason I read from qidian is that they ripped away true martial world from wuxiaworld. I guess I will soon go back to reading hardcover novels now. Qidian just wrecks up the whole game. It's sad when greed take the forefront.

As per the agreement made between Wuxiaworld and Qidian International, Qidian has all rights to the translated novels.

well, if that's true, we'll all would need to wait for concrete evidence or at least a statement from their (WXW) side before really agreeing to accept the dual-hosting... its hard nowadays to trust people on the internet you know...

We understand your concern, we are doing everything we can to open up the translation market as much as possible while still giving stable jobs to translators so they can turn their hobby into more then that, but previously things were communicated poorly so we are taking steps to make sure in the future this doesn't happen anymore, thus our transparency in this issue.

 

And did Wuxiaworld have the rights over the translated novels?

I just see a money hungry company who is trying anything to make more money . And true to a lot of their novel, "might is right " , what can a simple guy who translate for whatever reason do against a big company ? Just a "little" pressure is all they need to do.
