News Qidian threatens Misty Cloud Translations

I agree with @Liyus on this matter. I suggest you just drop the novel and be done with it. No point translating the novel and they just copy paste your work. Their TLed novels aren’t on par with you and the other TLs here.

 

Really enjoyed all the novels on the site.
And hopefully other translators don't get tempted translating qi novels, so they dont have to deal with thus scenario been seeing lots of nee ones pop up

 

Sad thing is was less that 1000 pages left to translate and at misty's rate was about 2 mouths left till completion. Also it is the ideal time for QI (from the sparse lurking of QI drama I've read) as it's the final leg what they full on paywall. *sighs* I doubt misty will take a job as from the looks of it was taking $3k+ (if happy meter still up to date not including patron's cut ect) and has a quite loyal following but I doubt will see half of them migrate if they take take up indentured servitude.

Wait wait wait, on GDBBM's NU page it says publisher qdmm. That's not Qidian? Is it a subsidiary of Qidian? Or did they buy the rights?

Edit: nevermind, the Chinese sites look almost the exact same. qdmm probably is a part of Qidian. Catered at romance.

When J-novel asks me to take down a novel, I ask how fast.

The best option is that they get compensation. I hope they do but then again let's be honest.
Pirate sites are already stealing their translations, QI can claim they got it from elsewhere.
J-novel club does not offer compensation option. If QI offers compensation, regardless of how small, I hope they take it.
They already earn well on Patreon. It's not that bad.
They also didn't license in the first place. Many well established translators are licensing from places like Zhulang

 

In some rare case, j-novel club get the translator to join them. Isekai Mahou wa Okureteru! translator joins them in the end. Qi can do it to, but i doubt mistycloud translation wants to do it. That patreon income is no joke after all...
