So I'm curious about the difference between magic arrays and magic formation. if you know please explain. thank you

 

The magic arrays are arrays while the magic formations are formations

 

Aren't they the same shit just different names?

Formations itself does not have a Spirit Qi or mana you can call it whatever it is usually with done with flags and you need to supply Spirit Qi for it to work

Arrays itself has Spirit Qi that are prior to their making and can continously work with the help of Spirit Stones or anything that has spirit qi.

magical array r the itsy bitsy details that make up the overall magic formation....think of array as a squadron while the formation is the group....
in Fairy Tail what was the large scale magic that was used by Gazeel's former guild?that robot making the wide circle was the magic formation while the Element 4 components were the array...

 

They're basically the same thing, but at some cases stated by the comments above me.

1. Arrays = Formation
2. Arrays <= Formation = (Arrays + 1 + .... + N)
3. Arrays are like activated skills while formations are akin to skills yet to be activated with conditions set by the user against target/s within the formations boundaries.
4. Arrays required energy from users continuously as formations are not since they are at most cases, independent from the energy source which is the user.

 

You should ask a translator (s) that question, maybe in Chinese it’s actually the same word but translated differently?

 

that's what I think as well and google doesn't help while searching for it in the novel takes too much times. its been 3 days since I research into it but only found few of them from the novel and they don't explain much.

I'm not particularly reading or translating a novel but I'm just curious, idk if I'm wrong but they had a different word for that. like in kanji we have the same meaning word but with a different structure alltogehter

Hmmmm, I'm reminded of some dungeons and dragons banter from an old group of mine.
And the discombobulated conversation about disabling this magical trap. Don't worry I won't tell the long ass story.

A magical array is a collection of magical formations stacked/ put together in a specific order.

Using the above image as an example. We will call this a magical array. And in DnD it's something our Dungeon Master used for our story, blah, blah, blah.

There are 5 notable magical formations. And each formation is a collection of magical symbols.

The center is a array of 2 magical formations (An inner circle and outer)

Next we have arrayed 3 magical formations (circles) around that center array.

Soooo, visually you can think of an Array as the sequence & Formation as the grouping of magical symbols.
