So I planned to buy new laptop to separate my gaming and work activity. But my budget is only enough to buy Asus ROG G15 that has Nvidia GTX 1650 Ti or something. I'm not too savvy on graphics cards so I don't understand if it's good enough or not. Now my question is... Do Nvidia GTX 1650 Ti is enough to play most modern game that comes out recently? And if it isn't good enough, do you have other recommended laptop that is around the same price range? My budget is around $1000 - $2000 but I prefer if it's around $1500. I heard that most standard High-end gaming PC has Nvidia GTX 2080 Ti or something equivalent. Judging by the numbering it's obviously a lot newer and better than 1650 and I heard there's already GTX 3000 or something coming out. I'm afraid that when I buy this laptop the graphic card might no longer able to play any games that comes out in 2 or 3 years or so. I decided to buy new laptop because Phantasy Star Online 2: NGS is coming out this year. And from what I watch from the trailer and from the information I got, it seems my current laptop might not be able to play PSO2 anymore.
Gaming Laptop isn't worth it imo. 1650 TI I think it can play some new modern game titles on low settings (obviously that graphic card can't handle cyberpunk 2077 well). I'm not confidence enough to recommend you 1650 TI.
don't know the diff between laptop and desktop (other than the obvious) currently using a 1650 (gddr6 OC) and this could give you a bit of reference i think... I can run AC4: black flag in almost max settings at around 50 fps, 1080p Apex on max in about 15-30 fps, 1080p and some older games like dota 2 on 4k 60fps at max settings. tho preferably, you could get something better....(but seeing the recent market, can't complain much)
Nope. There will be serious drop in fps on latest high-end games. Some might be playable on 'Low' in-game settings but forget about something like Red Dead Redemption II or Cyberpunk 2077. The only high-end latest game that could run on it might be Doom Eternal cause that's crazy optimized. Then again, it's a fps shooter so the higher the fps the better. Though, it can easily run Phantasy Star Online 2: NGS. Again, idk about the CPU and RAM of this particular laptop so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ That GPU can't smoothly play games from last year so forget about those that comes out in next 2-3 years. Also there are many GPU comparing and benchmarking sites you can check out like this one.
Wait a minute, isn't a G15 around 2000 dollars? With that money you can get a store to build a pc that is twice as powerful and lasts twice as long. Laptops generally don't last beyond 2 years especially for gaming. Even the most modern one. So for me I would say it's not good enough.
1650Ti is enough on most of modern games, if you're playing on 720p. 1650Ti is enough on most of modern competitive games, if you're playing on 720p. 1650Ti isn't enough on most of high-end, AAA modern games, even on 720p. If you had that much of dough, building your own PC woluld be better, but is there any consideration on why you're choosing on laptop in the first place?
I don't really have anymore space to place PC sets on my room and I usually play games on my bed so Laptop is my only option.
I see. That's a shame. G15 isn't a bad choice, and should run PSO just fine, but you need to maintain it constantly, open it up monthly to clean the dust and check the soldering.
Imo for that price range go for a desktop build. Or you really want that portability then check this one https://www.dell.com/en-us/shop/gam...ptop/spd/alienware-m15-r3-laptop/wnm15r3ehylh
It's general advice, especially if you play on your bed, the laptop tends to get a little too hot, and may affect the parts, especially if you don't clean the dust.
I checked the price on my local store and it seems to be a bit out of my range. But the specs seems a step up better than G15 and the difference isn't much... Maybe I'll consider it and save up more money. I still need a place to put the monitor , mouse and keyboard. Not to mention buying and placing chair and table for them. I don't have any readily available table on my room
That's look a lot like accident going to happen. Especially for clumsy guy like me. The airflow seems pretty good though.
If you're buying a pc or laptop, search for at least one that has a 2060 inside, those will play anything at 1080p, if you can also search for a AMD 4XXX CPU on it One of the best would be an ASUS ROG Zephyrus g14, or if you can find and afford this year's revision, the Zephyrus g15
pretty sure Asus ROG Zephyrus 15 is around 1500. it has 8c/16t ryzen 5900h, RTX 3060, 1440p 165Hz screen edit. found an exteremely recent review of it. it appears there's also a model with RTX 3070 @ ~1800, and RTX 3080 @ ~2000 Spoiler
