    How'd you translate it? Demon, ogre, troll, or something else?

    「鬼さんこちら、手のなる方へ。よっし、バイト兄、うまく釣れたぞ」

    「よし、任せろ、アルス」

     森のなかで移動している鬼を見つけた俺がとある地点までその鬼を誘導する。

    鬼=おに=oni
    According to wiki oni (鬼) is a kind of yokai, demon, orc, ogre, or troll in Japanese folklore.

    i dont think you helped at all, this was a contextual question.

    im now going to be even less help!

    i dont know any japanese, but i have webnovel culture. yokai and demon are basically interchangeable unless its a story mixing eastern and western mythos. either way, it wont be them since those are umbrella terms, not specific species terms

    Probably not a troll, thats norwegian. ogre and orc are the closest, orc is going to be more esports/modern fantasy/litrpg, so if its not one of those its not an orc, thats a western pig man!

    ergo, this must be an ogre you need.

    also oh no that faux translater changed their name and i cant remember what to! @Negiomi whats our foxy translators name, quickly bring someone useful

    I typically do ogre or demon depending on context and western vs eastern. This one is a double meaning if it actually is an oni because of the reference to "it" (oni) in (blindfold) tag, so you could localize it or do oni with a T/N. For oni in tag, I typically localize and phrase it so that 'it' is an obvious reference.

    Since it's onii and it seems pretty dumb based on the interaction, I would go for ogre.

    "Ogre, this way, follow the hand. All right, Ogre. Bite. It's working"

    "Okay, I've got it, Als."

    I found an ogre walking in the forest, and I led it to a clearing/ specific location.
