    I love me some Hentai but I think we don't necessarily need this because R-18 stuffs are already allowed to be discussed but without NSFW. And there's Hentai thread btw, it's dead af tho.

    The idea behind it is good, but I feel this kinda thing would just breed trouble. While in theory it would keep r18 stuff isolated, I feel with this community its likely to produce more trolls who bring that kinda stuff outside the dedicated forum (we are not short of trolls here)

    Sure theres Pervs and Yandere in every thread, but thats what makes this site my favorite! Ai-eating traps, Arcturus coercing some poor sucker into joining the dark side, people teasing new members about how they have entered the abyss...IT'S ALL NUF! Don't change just because society says things are not OK for certain ages.

    I said no.

    The reason being, if Novel Updates advertises itself as an age-friendly site, there should not be something like an official R18 subforum.

    You can compare NUF to other common anime/manga forums out there. For instance, for those of you old enough, the animesuki forums can be considered a predecessor to NUF because that was where everyone went to discuss novels before NUF existed. While they do have a general chat, there simply isn't a place for R18 things unrelated to novels (e.g. dick size) on an age-friendly site.

    I think this is non-negotiable.

    But then again, this depends on whether you think NUF should be more like 4chan or something more respectable like /r/lightnovels.

    I don't know about you, but NU is the face of the light/web novel community these days. Pretty much everyone who reads novels knows about NU, just like how everyone knows about MAL or mangaupdates. I think for @Tony's sake, it's important to maintain some kind of professionalism, at least on the surface.

    For people who want an R18 forum:
    1. There's already a couple obscure R18 threads, and those are already fine and you can use those.
    2. You can have a mega PM conversation between people who are interested... or a discord group.
    3. Make a separate forum/place for the NSFW things. Baka-Tsuki had a "Moon Channel (M-Chan)" on a separate site for that kind of discussion. Just keep it separate from the official/main site.

    I also voted "no" and this isn't up for a discussion so I'm locking this. NUF won't have a R-18 subforum.
