It still feels like the last chapter of Sevens was released only yesterday. I remember patiently waiting every other day, or even daily, for a new Sevens chapter. Back then, daily uploads were still kind of a new thing in the community. And every single time, at least someone would call him a translation monster. He'd then always tell us that they were stacked chapters he had translated before :blobjoy:. Even before Sevens, Yoraikun had a bustling community (shieldbro era).

But alas, as the overused saying says: "All good things must come to an end." After Sevens, none of Yoraikun's novels managed to gain much popularity. I remember him periodically complaining about the extreme lack of comments, even going as far as asking Reddit for novel recommendations. Gradually fading out of existence, all of this culminated into the last three texts he would write on his blog.

Last post: "Probably not continuing. Comment section is going to break me at this rate." :blobsob:
    Penultimate comment: https://imgur.com/a/xwsjeCt
Final comment: "You have to buy the books" It's kinda funny that his probable final comment is something he has had to say a thousand times in the past.

Of course, he might just be taking a break, but I don't think taking this long of a break (since May) without informing his fans is something he would do.

If you're reading this, Thank you Yoraikun. Reading your novels had helped me with my depression and kept me occupied. An amazing translator who would always engage with his community, R.I.P. You were one of the OGs.

Am I the only one that's sad about this?

Edit: As otaku31 says, Yoraikun has an amazing amount of translated one shots. If you won't read any of his series, then please at least try these oneshots:https://yoraikun.wordpress.com/misc/

Wasn't interested in Sevens or any other (long) novels on that site. I only visited for the amazing one shots/shorts. Yoraikun had the uncanny ability 4 picking out the best of them, and it's incredibly sad to see the man who gave us so many memorable short stories leave the TL scene.

The little macho girl was always a hit at family story telling events. I hope we see some more weird works one of these days...

Well he was translating what he wants, he could have garnered some popularity if he picked the popular works or enjoyable novels like Shield hero. He stick to his preference without trying to understand what people wants, it feels like he was axed but in a different way.

That's a tough situation. Would you rather continue on, translating novels you don't even like for the sake of remaining relevant? Or do you continue translating the novels you enjoy for the sake of sanity even though you'll gradually fade out of existence?

Rise of shield king was probably the novel that got me hook on WN and in a pre-NU era all novels that i found was through reccomendation of novels and translators that i already followed and @yoraikun was probably a bigger infuence on my reading list than even WuxiaWorld.
the last few novels haven't really suited my taste but i still check every new one cause i might just get a new mr. lyle

Because people are more toward CN novel now...
@yoraikun Translation is super good and once it reach some popularity, it always translated till the end.
Not many translation reach those completion/latest raw.

Rip my boi, he'll always have a place in my heart. Whenever I saw a novel posted by him id jump on it as he typically had good taste, in my opinion. Guess I shouldve been commenting as well.

Man, I read a lot of one-shots translated by Yoraikun that brought me to the edge of tears/laughter. The Lazy King was one of the first novels that I actually followed and finished. Hate to see it go, I really do
