There are multiple times WW3 almost started during the cold war. Some most people know about, others very few people know. And no matter how close, just the fact that WW3 almost started is scary in it's selfe. I would say it's a miracle that it did not start during the cold war.
I think someone had a random fact thread some time ago but I have bad memory so who am I to say... "The sun's light takes about 8 minutes to reach the Earth after it has been emitted from the sun's surface. The time it takes for light to reach planets in our Solar System (not the Milky Way, which is our galaxy) varies from about 3 minutes for Mercury, to about 5.3 hours for Pluto"

It can take over 100,000 YEARS for the same light to go from the sun’s core to the surface...at which point like a rich kid allowed to borrow dad’s Porsche, it races for eight minutes to get to earth...
A weird random fact I found is 29th May is officially "Put a Pillow in Your Fridge Day". This strange holiday spans back to the early 1900’s, where families would place a piece of cloth in their larders. It’s celebrated in Europe and the U.S.A to bring luck & wealth to the household. Do you guys really did it?
Throwing rice at a newly married couple has been a tradition for thousands of years, possibly going back as far as the ancient Assyrians and Egyptians. The idea is to give the newlyweds good luck, fertility, and abundance using this symbol of a good crop.
I know none of mine are military but hey. Sloths can slow down their already insanely slow metabolism even more so that they can stay under water for up to 40 minutes to hide from predators.
Handshakes were originally meant to make sure that the person you were meeting wasn’t carrying a concealed weapon. The hand clasp proved that your hand was empty and shaking was meant to dislodge any weapons hiding up the sleeve
