Like seriously, what the fuck!
So many games like Clash of Kings and Game of Wars.
They're all copy cats of each other.
Their only difference is their graphics.
So many companies do this. Even the big ones! Like Lord of the Rings.
Gameloft even!
Their formula is shit as well.
You just manage over resources and an invisible army.
No population system, no proper diplomacy.
I know that android games copy each other like there's no tomorrow.
But at the very least these copycats offer something a bit more interesting!!!!!!!
These are games that only aim to suck money and time out of you.
If you're gonna do that, at least be fun and don't riddle my screen with hard to close ads!!!!!

FPS is a genre, this formulaic shit is not. They're a part of the kingdom building genre (or strategy if kingdom building is considered a genre at all). Even then, they're only a part of it, not the entire genre. Unlike FPS games.

 

why bother innovating when you can just copy what already works and is proven to make money?

i know what you mean it is so sad that so many android games are just junk there to just milk you dry... also doesn't help that the Google Play store sucks at sorting games like really give me some traditional sorting options or tags to make sorting out the crap easier!

 

Yes FPS is a genre and those games you mentioned are about UI. But again, it's not something that can be copyrighted because it falls under "idea". Things that are easy and profitable will get copied. Same goes for fps and the mobile games you mentioned.

 

One time i accidentaly redownloaded clash of king (as i played it in the past), there was 14000 gems i'm like wtf. Then proceeded to delete it

 

Why make a framework while there is already a perfect framework to copy from.It cost money and time to implement new ideas. In business perspective, riding along the waves is profitable..

FPs though similar do have their differences..... Clash of kings and all those are literally the same game with different names

 

Same reason there are so many connect jewel games, game mechanics are all the same just change the skins and you can market it as a new game and keep more ppl interested.
