When it comes to protagonist that kill you usually get two mindsets. The overly forgiving type, that refuses to take a life, and thinks knocking someone unconscious will stop them from ever committing a crime again. Usually this person is also a hypocrite, who while sparing genuinely evil people, like rapists, and slavers, gives no qualm when killing monsters or demons, who are just minding their own business. The overly ruthless type, that kills someone just for bad mouthing them, and will even go out and kill their friends and family to boot. They even try to paint themselves as someone who is reluctant to kill, or someone who only kills when they have to. But often enough they deliberately exasperate their victim, choosing to kill when they could have just walked away. What have been some series where this is NOT the case. Stories where when the protagonist spares someone you think "yeah, that guy learned his lesson" and when they kill someone you think "fucking bastard, he deserved it."
JP = forgiving CN = kill everyone KR = what you are looking for Please make your reading list public.
Wow there you are not clear about jp. Jp is divided in two sections 1. The forgiving guy that is transferred to another world to save it from something 2. The emo edgy kid that was betrayed, his family was murdered or something dark and depressing happened to him and now he seeks revenge
This one I can deal with. Most people around here seem to prefer type 2, with a side of "Because I felt like it or for selfish reasons" Seeing someone who -tries- to spare their opponents and then offs the ones who are just so evil there's no way that they'll ever stop being evil, that's a-ok in my book. I'd love to see someone who gives everybody one chance to fix themselves (assuming they haven't gone beyond a certain threshold at least) and repeat offenders get the axe. Don't count on finding anything like that though, thus far 100% of the stories I've read that started out that way suddenly hit a "But that's the way this world is, so protagino adapts and starts murdering babies because everyone else is doing it so why not?" Since we're sharing desires, you know what I want to see more than anything? Something where a false protagonist of the super selfish sociopath type gets merc'd by the actual (preferably a better person but obviously willing to kill) protagonist, and the story goes from there. I'm getting to the point where I might just write it myself.
+1 for KR However, a lot ... I mean A LOT of Chinese MCs kill someone (and their 9 generations so that not even chickens or dogs are spared) because they ate the last baozi at a table but will spare the guy who schemes since the beginning of time to kill everyone related to the MC ... ok, most Chinese MCs are just dumb.
Sorry how do I do that? I went to List Settings, and there was only the option to hide it from the public reading list. Spoiler {}
Cultivation Chat Group The Amber Sword Edit: The World After the Fall might turn out to be like this, but it currently has too few chapters. It's still great though.
Go to Global Settings, not List Settings. The List Settings hide options lets you hide certain lists from public, like those too embarrassed to show their "collection" while still being able to make reading list public.
Demons Diary, ARMJI, Zhu Xian, Tales of the Reincarnated Lord if you got bored of xianxia, you can try Da Tang Shuang Long Zhuan for a change, in the beginning is a little boring but get better after some 20 chapters
A. Remember that each person is the accumulation of their experience. This means that each person's state may change from A to B, whatever the label is. What are you to judge whether they are evil or not at their current state, whether he/she can change in the future or not? Note that this doesn't absolve people of their crime. There is law for that. B. Every person is biased. Even if you use your rationale, you are not some omniscient god to judge everyone in absolute perspective. Rational killing should be avoided at all costs.
