Gonna go double check then I'll re-update. Also worth noting (Don't think they added this) The ghost thing that appears next to Suburu mouths the words for "I love you". I think in the WN the ghost actually says the words, but in the anime the ghost only mouths them.

I don't wanna post any spoilers, but Suburu does become more powerful in the future.

Yes. Possibly. No. Well, we don't actually know. There are a few theories out there that suggest some messed up stuff about Suburu. But you gotta trust me on this, I've read ahead in the WN's and Suburu is far from normal.

You won't be able to see it yet, but watch what happens after he meets Betelgeuse again.

Had a look at the RAW's. He doesn't actually get interrupted, he says something completely different, but he's thinking it would be ideal to get the support of Krusch's camp.

In my opinion, he was thinking because the soldiers are exhausted, they won't be able to fight against the cultists. Not sure though, they went a bit different in this scene.

They even missed the best bit out. Where Suburu and Rem are thrown off their dragon and Suburu over reacts thinking that Rem's gonna die from her light injuries. So they confess their love to each other again, just before Ferris jumps in xD

 

Who's Ferris?

 

Crossdressing neko. He's a healer, so he went to see if Rem was alright, but ended up finding that scene.

His name is フェリックス (Ferikkusu = Felix), but his nickname is フェリス (Ferisu = Ferris).
Sadly this difference is obscured in the English language.

Well I just call it a ghost for lack of a better word. I'm referring to the face that appears next to Suburu when he's falling and telling the white whale about return from death. Instead of phantom hands, a head appears and mouths the words "I love you" into Suburu's ear. The anime doesn't state what the ghost says, but the WN does.

 

Isn't that just the witch?

I mean... it IS a projection of the witch, right?
