......I read over 1000 chapters of "Reincarnation of the Strongest Sword God" despite finding it mediocre. Mostly, I just read it because it's pretty....stable? Conflicts are fairly mild & almost always confined to the game world (even if it leaks out to real life, it still doesn't affect the MC much - it's still mostly just in-game. They don't threaten his friends, destroy his business or hold his family hostage.) Lots of generically strong & pretty waifus everywhere, but they're not described in a lewd dudebro manner & they seem to have zero romantic feelings for the MC to the point where they don't even fawn/blush over him. MC never really grows or changes & while I do find his stubbornness frustrating at times, it's never bad enough that it'll make me quit (besides, he'll just resolve it in like 20 chapters). MC only moves solo like 1/2 the time in the game, so it's not saturated with "loner angsty badass, so much edge" nonsense. The rest of the time, he's with over a hundred or even thousands of players. It's just mostly mindless grinding, boss hunting & stat raising. It reminds me of when I used to spend hours on Maplestory with my brother & I like it even if nothing happens in the novel. Feels oddly nostalgic & relaxing, like listening to vaporwave music or lofi radio.
