I read too much too fast. Finding the NUF site answered to a lot of problems in regards to translated novels. What most excited me was finding the reading list feature. I had a browser bookmarks folder that was getting WAY too complicated. I'm looking for any alternatives with similar features that would enable tracking my progress and the status of OEL novels for RRL and/or other sites. Any ideas?

Reading list is simply a RSS feed.

    Manual RSS feed I guess.

I think he meant a software or add-on which have similar function from NUF's reading list for his bookmarked sites outside of NUF

If it has a RSS feed, you could use a feed reader. Just mark them items unread as you go.

For RRL you have the "bookmark" function, if you want something that tell you when a new chapter is out, you can e-mail subscribed the novel

I can understand wanting such a thing. NU's reading list is wonderful, but I don't think there is anything like it out there for non-translated novels.

I agreed with reading list being the most exciting (and most convenient) feature.

    But understand this:
    1. Every single chapter of novel in NU is MANUALLY updated by their own translator.

    2. Chapter is not updated by RSS feeds like others novel update site,
    e.g: aho updates..

    3. From point no.1 and no.2, we can conclude that the translator has a way/privilege to tamper with the novel listed.

    4. From normal (non-translator) POV, it as if all the novel listed in the NU is auto updated.

Current problem: Bookmark in the browser saved is not auto-updated.

    Solution: none.
    Reason:
    1. There aren't any way for the website/outside source to tamper with the browser, because browser is INSTALLED in the LOCAL storage of the user, all the data is saved under user's profile, in user's local temp data folder.
    2. If the website/outside source can tamper with the user local data, they'll have to to through the device firewall and that would trigger any security in the device.

    Verdict:
Your best bet is changing from browser to Gmail. By doing so you can subscribe for RSS feeds of the website, and make a specialized category in the gmail so that every RSS will be updated in that category.

How old school you people are ...

Why not simply make a Google doc online and maintain progress there?? Excel or word makes excellent tracker if u know how to use them ...

Not really, we have bots that updates them automatically. They use the rss feed for the TL sites and adds them, with the mod's approval of course.

Get outlook. Put all rss feed to it.
Or simply make codes magically appear that would make you do that

Eeeeeh? I've seen the post our god Tony posted about how to update the chapter. There are things like group, title and chap to be updated. And from what i've seen, RSS feeds can't separate these things as they only send the latest post, even any post not related to novel itself. So i cant brain how NU cant update with just RSS feeds...

    But bots...
I see.. never thought bout that
    Tony really worked hard huh...

Kudos for him, translators and the bots..

Yes, the bots are convenient but not omnipotent. They cant tell the difference between an announcement and a chapter kek
