You could try F, which is a slightly more old-school style isekai. It's not particularly dark, but it has a better-constructed setting than most of the more recent stuff.

Onee-chan Will Become a Hero, and Save the World! is a oneshot that goes very dark very fast.

Hey. I want to recommend you a isekia/portal novel. It's really good and very different from your usual isekai novel . It's not a LN though but trust me and give it a shot. It's called Delve and you can read it at RoyalRoad. It's amazing and it's the closest interpretation of a Mc arriving in a different world and has to face all the barriers of language and culture. He has no help from the system or there is not stupid cheat. It's very realistic and you feel like your present with him. It's amazing and considering your requirements I believe you will like it. It's not sinister ( not yet anyways you never know ) but has a very realistic approach

 

The Second Coming of Avarice is really good, not really isekai but still good.

Youjo Senki
Tdlr; adult man gets reincarnated by being X into a little girl with magic skills in the middle of fantasy Germany whose at war. No romance or fan service, mostly war/just story focused. Not super grim but it’s not a super light hearted story either

The Lazy King
Maybe? It’s very well written. Dude reincarnated into a sloth demon, and they need to sleep to power up and he’s OP af cuz in his past life he just wanted to sleep. It’s a good story but MC is very stagnant and while he’s the center of everything, he’s also absent from everything (he’s sleeping). Not really comedy or light hearted, it’s a bit of a politics + fighting story smashed together.
