I REALLY hope that a translating group will take this one.

Unfortunately the author is on hiatus and won't start the next chapters until January 2021. So readers are all suck at chapter 85 and it's a dang cliffhanger.

It's killing me as I want to know what's next. The last scene is so good.

Elaine meets Espel in the 2nd chapter of the series.

Spoiler: Chap 2

After being abandoned the streets by her step mother at age 8, she's been living on the streets for about a year and is 9 now. She is chased by a man with a sword and then a demon tries to attack her but is rescued by a woman with purple eyes who used blue flame to pretty much evaporate the demon.

Elaine passes out and Bella takes her to the hut. Elaine has a fever as she's sick and as she starts to wake up and she hears two voices. One is Bella's and one is Espel's. He doesn't like humans and is wondering why Bella brought back a human child to her place and Bella basically tells him to hush as Elaine awakens. Espel sighs and leaves.

Bella asks if Elaine is alright and Elaine asks if Bella is a witch. Bella is bitter as this is all she seems to be known by as humans tells her yes she is a witch. But then Elaine surprises Bella and asks Bella's real name so that she can address her.

For years people have hated and feared the witch yet Bella sees there is no fear in Elaine and smiles warmly giving Elaine her real name.

Elaine tells her that's a pretty name and Bella offers for Elaine to stay with them (Espel and Bella) and Elaine wonders if that's okay because her husband my disagree.

This makes Bella crack up as she tells Elaine that Espel is not her husband but part of her family and a close friend. She also tells Elaine that Espel is a demon.

Elaine goes outside to a nearby stream to wash her face and as she looks up she sees Espel in the tree which surprises her that she falls forward and the next thing she knows, Espel catches her before she hurts her self.

Elaine tells him thank you as he walks away as he can't believe he just did that.

Elaine chases him instead and calls out his name which makes him stop and he notes Bella must have been sharing information about him with Elaine.

Espel tells Elaine he's been with Bella for a long time and he doesn't like nor trust humans because they will betray you in the end like they did him. Also he tells her that people have been after Bella for a long time and the reason is for one thing. Eternal life. They believe drinking the blood of a witch will give that to them which is superstition and not true and that disgusts Espel.

Espel tells Elaine he doesn't want to see Bella hurt any more and so that is why he won't accept her.

Elaine tells him sorry and she wants to stay with Bella too. This makes Espel go "HA!" but then he looks at her and her determined eyes as she tells him she won't hurt Bella like other humans do. She wanted to make Bella laugh.

Espel looks at her for a secon and then he brushes some leaves off of Elaine's shoulder and notes how Elaine's eyes seem older than her age.

Finally he says, fine and they best go in, ranting that he knew Bella would do this but then he turns to Elaine and tells her if she hurts Bella, he would get rid of her.

She nods in agreement.

Espel grins and says Good

Elaine says, "Thank you for allowing me to say, Espel."

This makes Espel's jaws drop and then he looks at this child and says, "You're weird."

"Why?"

"Us...Are you not afraid of us?"

Elaine wants to laugh as she has never been treated so kindly or affectionately by her parents, her sibling, or anyone in the streets until she met them.

She tells Espel she's seen humans behave worst than demons/beasts and that Bella who isn't human is more human than them. She smiles brightly at Espel who still finds her odd.

And that is the beginning formation of their family.

GAWD - I really love how sweet and endearing this series is.

We don't know when Reich remembers or figures out out Sir Elaine's relationship to his mother because the series stops at chap 85 and the author is on hiatus until March now of 2021.

Its been hard to wait because in the latest chapter 85...

Elaine and Riech are at some ball event and there's been amazing build up between Elaine and Riech. She's outside in the garden and he comes and finds her.

Riech kisses her hand and tells Elaine he likes her and that is the end of the chapter.

So yeah...readers are going to have to wait and hope the author is okay and can finish her series.

@SamSam Yeah.........I was like camping on ridibooks this month for the next chapter and then saw the announcement on their website....

 

Ooh thank you for those spoilers! But I meant when do Elaine and Espel reunite after Elaine wakes up. And the build up looks really nice I can’t wait to see what happens!

There's a serial killer in the town when Sir Elaine and Reich returns from their investigations into the past. Elaine confronts the killer only to discover it's a demon and he flees.

She chases after to find another demon has killed it and it's Espel.

The fl fell asleep when she was 20 and the ml is now 23 so they have an age gap of 3 years now.
